Off topic, but I think the staff at the restaurant I went to tonight expected to be raptured. Or the owners did and put their C-team on the schedule, not giving a shit anymore.

I have never had a waitress argue with me about what I ordered before. Seriously. I ordered a large bowl of pho. She brought a small one. "I ordered a large." She not only argued, but went and got the check to show me where she wrote down "small." Forgive me, but I'm more likely to believe what I know said (and my wife and daughter heard) than what a lady who had to confirm three times what meat my wife wanted on a dish that supposedly had no meat options, and who couldn't speak any numbers in English. (Which I have no real problem with, and am quite used to at Vietnamese restaurants... only it's normally not that the waitress speaks Spanish and a tiny bit of English.)

I wound up just taking the small bowl, which is good, because it was the shittiest bowl of pho I've ever had. And they didn't even serve it with the standard accoutrements, and the waitress got especially bitchy when Mrs A asked for them.

I want to further derail the topic by stating that I watched the Belmont yesterday, and totally pegged Shackleford as the winner. I said any horse named after an actor who starred on Knot's Landing has got to be a winner. The horse proved me right.

To continue the further derailment of the topic...Did you put any money on the race? I've lived here for almost 8 years and have yet to gamble on sports or racing. Actually in that time, my wife and I have gambled about $100 between us, mostly in slots and video poker/blackjack.

I didn't bet. I only turned on the TV a few minutes before the race as they were leading the horses to the gate and made a snap decision regarding Shackleford. He looked psyched and ready to race.

I've only been in a casino a few times in my life. The first time I played slots and won $120 on $20 worth of quarters. The second time I lost another $20. I've not gambled since. The way I see it, I'm up $80 which is probably more than anyone else in America.
