Joking about Mulletman aside, I'm a bit pissed over the GH situation.
Jabba is a Target exclusive.
Qui-Gon and Jar Jar are a TRU exclusive.
The band and Duros are WM exclusives.
And all of these will require you to buy a lot of stuff you already have.
Fuck you, Hasbro. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck and double fuck yourselves.
I think I'm done. I don't feel like I'm missing out on any of the new stuff that's out, and I don't want to re-purchase shit I barely have room for at $20 a set just to get a few new figures.

I don't take the GH line too seriously, so it doesn't bother me. When we do buy them, it is mostly for the kids. Mostly.
You know what's bad? That kitbash Rebel Vanguard. They used that carpy body from the Endor rebel and slapped the Rebel Fleet Trooper's helmet and vest on him. In the video game, he has a pistol and a rocket launcher. I didn't see the rocket launcher in any of the pics...not that I was going to get it anyway. Hasbro can take that holo Vader, tie it to Bizarro The Grin's shaft, and let him stick it up their rear-ends.
The only thing in that rehash wave that interests me is the blue and yellow R2.

You wanna know what I'm all "Fuck Hasbro!!!" about today? The number of goddamned exclusives due out this summer. So far we're now at 6 different 3.75" figure packs and one stupid coin that will forever be a blank spot in my (shittacular) coin album. Here's the list so far:
Concept Luke (which I love the looks of)
Concept C3PO and R2 (which are required, period - the art is SO famous)
Concept Grievous (I don't care)
Concept Obi Wan & Yoda (meh - I'd take them if they were retail)
Shadow Biker Scout with Speeder Bike (or is this just a rumour?)
R2KT (I don't care)
Stupid CIV Coin
Fuck me - they're spitting in my face with some of this stuff.

While I don't care about that one, since I am one of three people who found the original release. I'm tired of buying the same astromech color schemes in new bodies. It might be a better sculpt than the original, but, dude, what the fuck do I need a third leg for on Gary the Background Astromech?Rogue II wrote:The only thing in that rehash wave that interests me is the blue and yellow R2.
I've been on the verge of quitting for a while, but now I'm beginning to see that Hasbro simply will not give us what we want, and they'll overcharge us for what we get (or, worse, overcharge us and make us buy shit we've bought three times before).

The convention exclusives don't bother me because I wouldn't have bought them if they were retail. But, I'm not sure I like the trend. The silver figures made sense, so did the George X-Wing pilot. Now they are drifting into the concept artwork while the other half is retail. I'm starting to get the feeling that when Hasbro does finally do Yarna, it will be a convention exclusive...in Scandinavia.

It's just crazy that they announce that half the McQuarrie figures will be con exclusives after the first two have hit retail.
And the black Biker Scout.... Dude, why'd they call it "Shadow Scout"? Seriously, black-clad Biker Scouts have been around in the EU for years, and they already have a name: Storm Commandos. (According to some of the better EU, Crix Madine created the squad when he was an Imperial intelligence officer.)

And that's my big problem with it. Don't make it so that millions of collectors can't have a complete collection of fucking figures from 2007 if they can't make the shows. Period! It's a kick in the bag. If they don't make these figures fucking READILY available by internet - and I don't want to have to keep refreshing 56 fucking times and find it to be sold out... I mean READILY FUCKING AVAILABLE - I'm going to be seriously pissed. I could be very easily persuaded to have a fire sale and fill in my vintage collection with the proceeds at this point.Rogue II wrote:The convention exclusives don't bother me because I wouldn't have bought them if they were retail. The whole coin thing looks fairly frustrating, too. I have no problem with a convention exclusive for these, but are people really going to open exclusive figures and their VTAC figures just to get more coins? They should have stuck with the stands or did a cross promotion with the WOTC minis.
Umm, you've been asked about Yarna and the Cloud Car several times each. Probably just as much as some of the other crap you've mentioned in your response. Are you sure you are listening?GH wrote:What has Hasbro's Star Wars team learned about its devout collecting audience through these Q&A sessions (besides the fact that we really want playsets/display items and we like our armies)?
HASBRO: We have learned a great many things. One is that, as we suspected, passion for the EU runs deep and fans want us to look at videogame figures as well as core novel figures for future opportunities (we have listened). Another is the range of interest for which we have fielded questions about "what's next" for sub-lines such as Galactic Heroes and Titanium, indicating that these have really gained a following (interestingly, there hasn't been as much chatter about Star Wars Transformers or Unleashed 2", but I suspect it's because they are both relatively new and should find their voice as the lines continue). Of course, probably the biggest learning was there are a number of figures that fans wanted brought back for another chance at, which was very interesting to follow and led directly to the upcoming Saga Legends fans' choice line.

I must be the only person who's not pissing myself with excitement over a third IG-88 and Bossk.
So they made IG-88 a millimeter taller, and gave Bossk ankle joints. Whoopdee-fucking-doo.
I wish I could go into the future to 2019 and bring back proof that Hasbro keeps doing stupid shit like this because people buy it, and that Yarna never got made because they had to do the Vintage Yak Face.

I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. In fact, I caught flack from someone because this weekend because I posted that I was going to wait to get these on clearance---just like they did last year. Bought the Snowtrooper because I doubt it will make it to clearance. It's a pretty cool figure, even with the Jango head under the helmet.
Hell, the only figures I specifically remember buying and opening IG-88 and Bossk as a kid. There are some pretty cool figures later this year, like Torture rack Han, but the excitement just isn't there like it used to be.

I have to admit that I got a little excited about the Biggs and Jawa I found two days ago.
I couldn't care less about the umpteenth Vader (now with dead Ben cloak!), and the vaporator was not good enough by a long shot to justify another inferior Luke for $7.
