OTTAWA (Reuters) – Obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Thursday.
The high court declined to hear an appeal by Canadian airlines of a decision by the Canadian Transportation Agency that people who are "functionally disabled by obesity" deserve to have two seats for one fare.
The airlines had lost an appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in May and had sought to launch a fresh appeal at the Supreme Court. The court's decision not to hear a new appeal means the one-person-one-fare policy stands.
The appeal had been launched by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet.

Fuck fat people. You should be entitled to two seats if you pay for 'em both. So, since I'm skinny, do I get my fucking seat 1/2 off?

wow. that's retarded. they should've said 'fat people have to pay four times the normal fare, because they should be given incentive to loose some weight or, barring the will to better themselves, be penalized for subjecting an entire airplane full of people to their stomach-roll cheese stench.'

Oh I know, it's fuckin silly- what if I got my unit replaced with a loaded gun, should I be allowed to go on a plane too, only with 2 armed guards paid for by the airline to make sure it doesn't go off, it's my body after all
What's next, granting fat people the "right" to free "supersizing", since a "medium" fry is cruel to the terminally gluttonous?

Retail stores such as WalMart and Target and grocery stores are also expected to redesign their stores to accomodate "FAT PEOPLE ONLY" aisles. Because when two fat women pushing shopping carts stop to"chat" in a grocery aisle, you'll NEVER GET THROUGH. And it's unreasonable for you to expect them to be courteous and jabber in single file.

Didn't someone sue a movie theater a while back because they were too fat to get in the seat?
