Batman
Countdown (finally it's over!)
Foolkiller ( missed last couple issues)
Hulk
JLA
Ms. Marvel
Thor
TF Spotlight: Grimlock
Uncanny X-Men ( Dear god...

If Uncanny were a horse, I'd have it shot and turned into glue...)
X-Force
Young Avengers presents
plus an Invader/Avengers sketchbook and Hulk/IronMan freebie book, which in the upcoming Hulk/Thundra one shot is a floating remote video cam robot that is clearly a Star Wars pit droid's head. I think Lucas gonna sue somebody!

All of you are buying Kick Ass? Is that just for the Romita artwork? I love Romita, but everything I've seen about that book looks like it's an excuse for Millar to do all the ridiculously overblown violence he's not usually able to get away with, all in the name of realism.
I've not read much Millar, but what I have read leaves me firmly in the category of "not a fan."

no.

no, he already got to do that with "wanted". which was fuckin' awesome - c'mon, a world where the superheroes lost and the supervillains rule? with a bizarro analogue named "fuckwit" to boot??? that's pure GOLD!

really??? i'm surprised... i'm not reading his FF because i'm luke-warm to them, and i need to budget myself a little bit at least, but ultimates 1 and 2 were great (3, um... not so much... because he didn't write it), superman: red son was cool, chosen was funny (in a similar manner to preacher, same type of thing...) marvel knights spider-man was freakin' sweet, his ultimate FF was really good, wanted kicked ass, kick-ass kicks ass... of all his recent (last 5 or 6 years or so...) i'd say civil war was his only real flop (in terms of writing) and that was because it was editorial dictate. i'm sure he barely wrote it. perhaps he only wrote the dialog at most.
he's best unfettered. left to his own devices, he comes up with some of the CRAZIEST shit this side of grant morrison.

Okay, most of what I read was Civil War, so maybe I should give him another shot. I wasn't aware he'd done Wanted, and have heard good stuff about it.
Something about Kick Ass still looks kinda meh to me, though. Kinda like it's the story of a fucking idiot who decides he's a superhero and gets his ass kicked, but without the humor.

I totally agree, Chux, but I've still bought (and well enjoyed) both of the first two issues. The cover to #1 sold me completely. I'll hold it for at least a couple more issues then make up my mind.
New books this week:
Thor, Mighty Avengers, Uncanny & Hulk #3. No reading done yet.

I've been buying Kick-Ass also.
I bought #1 to see what the hype was all about and enjoyed the story. #2 was also good, so I keep buying for a few months at least.

New Avengers, Daredevil 1-shot, X-Men Legacy 210....
... and Punisher 55. I'm 100% sure you cunts want me in the poor house, because it looks to me like I'm going to have to put a run of Ennis Punisher together now.
I fucking hope you're all happy.

oyes.
And the best part is that it all ties together so fucking nicely in this last arc, even stories that don't seem like it.
Don't forget to pick up the Born mini, which also heavily ties to this last arc (The Valley Forge incident).

I had a look - I still have the "BORN" mini, and actually remember reading it! I got #56 today, which I guess is the latest issue (I thought 55 had been, but checked the site and found 56 at another store today). I'm planning on getting what I can from my local retailer on FCBD, he's having a 40% off and had about 10-12 issues in the bin right now. I'll fill it in with Mycomicshop.com once the money situation brightens up a little.

Well I got only 2 books for FCBD this year - a new store policy, based on the local newspaper doing a big story about the giveaways. There were TONS of people there of every age when I hit the store, so I was very glad for the owner.
I also wrangled 18 issues of Ennis' MAX Punisher to bring me up to 20/57 issues thanks to the 25% off sale he had going for the day. Now, if I can get to Iron Man tomorrow afternoon it'll be the perfect ending to a great 36th b-day weekend!

Just Star Wars Legacy #22 from my pulls last week and this week.
FCBD was pretty lackluster this year. I grabbed a few random ones:
X-Men
Hellboy
Del Ray 2008 Preview
Dan Dare/The Stranded
Maintenance
Comics Go Hollywood

I really loathe the fact that FCBD is permanently scheduled on the same May weekend as the SAT. In addition to eliminating a good number of possible partakers who have silly stuff like college entrances to worry about, it means I will probably never be able to go again.

wasn't even able to attend this year. that sucks. hopefully my guys held a stack of FCB's for me. (that sounds like some sort of military hardware, doesn't it?) definitely want that hellboy/bprd book...
