The comic dude said it was good... still haven't read it yet. I missed 550 and am missing at least one other issue from when I left off... I'd rather get the whole thing and read it all in one sitting (but I might break down and have a look at 551 just to see what happens).

Here's what I got today.

Countdown 24
Batman and the Outsiders
Booster Gold
Ghost Rider
Green Arrow/Black Canary
World War Hulk
Nova
Punisher MAX
All Star Superman
Thor
Titans East
X-Factor
X-Men Die By The Sword

I'll give thoughts on a few issues later, but right now let me just say:

Punisher. Last page. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? See that thing back there Garth Ennis? That was THE LINE.

Oh shit...Now I'm really kicking myself for not going to the comic shop today.
Fuck, tomorrow is so damn far away.

"The Punisher" War Journal #13 - "The Punisher" attempts to kill Rhino for a third time...*sigh*...Spidey saves Rhino from "The Punisher" until some jackhole dressed like Kraven *sigh* shows up and kidnaps Rhino...for his own personal zoo *sigh*.

All-Star Superman #9 - Another issue that has the potential to be cool is wasted.

The Punisher #52 - Holy fuck.

Alrighty.
SPOILERS AWAY!
From the recap page:
"While searching for the means to get to Frank, Barracuda received a lead that pointed him in the direction of one of Frank's associates, Yorkie. And once Barracuda found Yorkie, he discovered the one thing that was sure to bring The Punisher to his knees: the infant daughter he didn't know he had.
After a face-to-face with his daughter, Frank Castle awoke in a hospital bed, unsure of how he got there. Taking inventory of his wounds, it became clear that he must have flown into a blind rage and brutally attacked Barracuda. Frank eagerly escaped the hospital, armed himself, and took to the road, knowing that in order to save his daughter, he could not let Barracuda beat him to his destination."

A little backstory: the mother appeared in three story arcs (#1-6, "The Beginning"; #19-24, "Up is Down, Black is White"; and #37-42, "Man of Stone") and was killed in the last arc. She was knocked up by Frank in "Up is Down, Black is White." She never told Frank about the baby (obviously) and left her in the care of her sister, so she would never know the type of people her parents were.

When Frank arrives near the house of the adoptive mother of the girl (her aunt) he tells her to take her family and leave the house. That night Frank enters the house and waits, knowing Barracuda is watching. Frank plans on using Barracuda's ego against him, but Frank underestimates him. When barracuda enters the house, he has the bundled baby in one hand and a gun in the other. After they exchange a few words, Barracuda takes the gun and shoots the baby in the head.

(Personal opinion: Barracuda didn't shoot the baby. We never actually see the baby, just the wrapped bundle. Barracuda definitely shoots something, but I'm not so sure it was the kid - at least I hope not.)

I picked up PWJ and had it on my pile. And I was looking at the cover and I thought, "Y'know...this book is never going to get better."

And I put it back.

Willpower. It's what for dinner.

You are quite the strong one.

I had some sandwiches.

A few new ones this week:

Spidey One More Day part 3. Huh. Didn't expect that. Interesting, and it'll be interesting to see how it wraps.
Marvel Comics Presents 3 (featuring a Magneto story & Deodato Jr. Magneto cover)
X-Men Emperor Vulcan 3
Wolverine Origins 19
DD 102
Thunderbolts 117
Thunderbolts One Shot
Hulk 111

Pretty cool - CDN cover is now $3.05, compared to $2.99 US. I got all of my books for $27 and change, would have been about $34 last month. 8)

All-Star Batman #8 - Best issue yet. The Joker shows up and is a great psychopath (and has a topless Nazi henchwoman with swastikas over her nipples!?), Batman makes fun of Dick Grayson and calls Green Lantern a retard.

Sensational Spidey #41 - One More Day part 3. The story finally gets good. A prediction some one here made almost came true. Pretty obvious who those two guys were before they revealed it. With one issue of the story left I just hope the end isn't crammed into a mess.

Daredevil #102 - I swear Brubaker loves making DD miserable. He's been put through hell time and time again since he took over. Sure does make damn good reading though.

The Boys #12 - Haven't read yet.

Wolvergins #19 - Ditto.

Yeah, Frank Miller's rendition of Joker was pretty much the first decent thing that's happened in the book. I think the Nazi woman was also in Dark Knight Returns which implies that these are the same continuity (This book at the beginning, DKR at the finale). Doesn't mean the first seven issues weren't ass though.

I finally got my copy of Transformers: Devastation #3 today. I just don't get it. No one looks anything like they did in the movie. Did I miss some story where they all got rebuilt into these new bodies? And why is Megatron still alive? Did Sam die? I think I'm going to have to stop reading this until I find the stores I missed.

I skipped my comic shop this week.

I was going to get that new weekly Fly comic, but I haven't been impressed with RedCircle ever since Roland Emmerich became EIC.

And that whole Disaster! Crossover at Charleston is just getting too convoluted. And now I hear they want to replace Question and Atom with completely new characters. What a fucking media stunt.
