So, Wolvie Origins went from what all of you were describing as the best thing since sliced bread (hell, better), to a lackluster title, and is now a reprint title?

I should have clarified. They had the regular story, and added the entire reprint issue in the back and tacked a dollar on the price of the book.

Was it the Wolvie Origins book that had the reprint or the main title? The main title was out today, and was an extra $1...

I got it, as well as Amazing 54? and Astonishing X-Men 22. I think that's it as Thunderbolts 116 was already sold out and they didn't get the reload on Avengers 33 I was hoping for.

This was an EXCELLENT week. Tons of good reads, barely any mediocre ones.

Batman. Morrison continues his exploration of the campy Intl. Batmen story. Williams does some really cool stuff artwise with page layout. The plot thickens. This would have been a great book on any other week, and this week it was merely decent. That's how good the other shit is.

GL Corps. Sinestro War continues without a pause. Huge knockdown dragout brawl between the Green and Yellow Corps. Kilowog has a chance to shine this issue. THis story is rockin...

Amazing Spider-Man. Despite a misleading cover, this was a very solid read. It completely humanizes Peter. And it wasn't even the best Spidey book this week.

Astonishing X-Men. Is it wrong for me to be violently jealous of a comic character? Because I Hater Peter Rasputin for getting to stick his pingpongpaddle in Kitty Pryde. And the usual epic space stuff was awesome. Emma giving Danger the straight-up. The ending was shocking as always. This book sucks for being bi-monthly.

Iron Fist. Starts a new storyline. Aja pencils get better and better every month, and Bru is rockin the story angle. Probably one of the top five books Marvel is putting out right now. Totally awesome read. Can't wait for next issue.

Iron Man. All the espionage stuff, which usually wouldn't work in an Iron Man book, has me completely riveted. I don't even think the IM armor shows up. i can't remember. There's too much other cool fuckin Spy shit going on in this book.

Sensational Spider-Man. Sarcasa and Crain wrap up this series in style. ( I know theres one more issue, but its part of the One More Day thing, so this is thier goodbye issue). Peter talks to Death/God about everything leading up to this point in his life and if it's been worth it. Best Spidey book this week. And Crain's beautiful CG art retelling Peter's origin for the hundredth time all the way through to the final page of What If...? This book was simply amazing.

Thunderbolts. OS! moment when Robbie Baldwin fuckin beats Hellrazor to DEATH!! Okay, maybe not to death, but fuckin' close. AWESOME! Even little thing's in this book are just so cool and emblematic, like the Captain America Idol reality Tv show playing in the background. Ellis is fucking brilliant. And Deodato's pencils are so superb I take them for granted.

X-Men. Finally!! X-Men villains we recognize being totally vicious. Stakes being raised! The fate of the world hangin in the balance!! Marauders! Acolytes! Exodus! Sinister! This book is getting good again. I almost forgive them the choice of artist. And i will give credit. Either his art has improved since Spider-Man, or its better suited to this book, or I'm getting used to it, but I wasn't throwing up while looking at it. So there, Humberto Ramos, enjoy my compliment.

No, it's still really good - they just had a mediocre/bad arc featuring Wolvie's son.... but the Annual more than made up for it. He now recalls the name of one person whom, it would appear, is most responsible for what happened to him. I think that a can of whoop-ass has been ordered, and is being shipped priority post.

:frus: <---- zat is me, pulling ze goalie sinking of Kitty Pryde.....

Regarding Wolvie:Origins. I am becoming less enamored of Dillon's art every issue. And the Cyber stuff took too long, and the Wolverine's son stuff took WAAAY too long. The underlying story is still great. Way is basically taking all the snippets we've seen from all the Wolverine flashback's over the years, and threading them together to paint Wolverine as the biggest asshole in the Marvel Universe and whatever the man behind the curtain pulling the strings did to get him there. I mean, last issue he revealed he was trained to kill Captain America. Asshole!!

Wolvergins #16 - More crap in the regular story, but the reprint was cool to read. It was one of those issues I never had and always wanted to read, but back in the day the comic shops had it priced pretty high. The "preview" of Wolverine was retarded also.

Astonishing X-Men #22 - As much as I like Whedon's take on X-Men, I can't wait for it to be over so I can go back an read the entire run. I had to flip through #19 and #20 and completely reread #21 because I couldn't remember much of it.

Tank Girl: The Gifting #3 - Haven't read it yet, but it should be fun like the last 2 issues. But I may drop it after this one - I need to cut back a little.

The Last FF Story by Stan Lee and John Romita Jr.

New Avengers 33

Silver Surfer Requiem 4.

So far I've read NA, and it was good. I also read Cap 29 and Astonishing 21 from last week.... the last page of Astonishing was, well, exactly that. We'll see how long it lasts.

I'm waiting for the paperback in like March or whatever, but can you answer me two questions about the Optimus Spotlight (if you can without totally spoiling the entire story):

1) What exactly is Omega Supreme in the new continuity? Mystic? Philosopher? Scientist? Former Autobot Commander?

2) Does this answer, or at least start to answer, what the hell the "presence" was that was watching Prime in the netherworld (when he transferred his consciousness to Roller)?

1. Hmmm...yes? He comes across as an Autobot from a different era, and all the current conflict is of little noteworthiness to him.

2. Apparently some sort of feedback from the "Matrix" (or whatever the shared history/programming is being called in this continuity) is Nova Prime. Optimus gets a vague sense of what he was really up to and goes to see Omega, because Omega knew Nova.

I read my books last night. here's what I thought.

Avengers Initiative. Better than anything else I've seen in this series. I liked the Constrictor and Bengal Secret Ops team better than those teenage wanks running around in the rest of the series. And Gyrich being a manipulative douche is always nice. But I won't be putting it on my regular pull list.

Fantastic Four. This book is flying along at a nice clip. Reed and Sue were only "gone" for about two issues, but fun cosmic/science-y storytelling all around.

WWHulk X-Men. Then end of the series. Damn good big fight book. Nice wrap up with Mercury facing the Hulk down with words. If you ever get a chance, check this out in TPB or whatever.

Silver Surfer:Requiem. So this new Marvel Knights Imprint is just a fancy way of continuing the "The End" books? Spider-Man: Reign, Silver Surfer: Requiem, Captain America: Chosen, etc. This was alright, nothing spectacular. Surfer dies in the end. In hindsight, I probably could have skiped buying this series.

Last Fantastic Four Story. Uhhmmmmm...it was good. But I think something like this should have been GREAT. And it was only "Good". GREAT books are ones that pop into your head years later and make you want to go dig them out of the boxes in the basement so you can reread them all over again. That will not be happening here.

Teen Titans. Your basic "Boo Hoo, Impulse is dead, lets have a memorial issue with past artists drawing the Titans from their Era telling Bart Allen stories." And then it leads into the new Titans Tomorrow story. I must say, the Blue Beetle stuff was quite entertaining "Uhh..are any of you ladies taken?" If they keep that up, he will be a welcome addition to the team.

Whoops! Looks like you'll never get a rebuttal from him now! Ha ha. Just think, while you were threatening him with dogshit, he was in a different section, bleeding to death. Kinda makes you look like a real dickhead. But it's not like I give a shit. I'm glad that asshole got capped. I was going to buy a mint copy of X-Men #1 on eBay and burn it in celebration! Yeehaa!!

That oughtta set you back a dollar or two. I'd get the Wolverine cover. It burns especially well.
