That's one of the reasons I never watch anything on Spike.

Indeed it is. But Spike probably needs all the sponsor money they can get.Rogue II wrote:Thanks. They will probably screw it up. Have you ever watched the Three Stooges on Spike? They force a commercial in the middle of the short and tons of commercials before and after each episode. It's quite painful to watch.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

We always knew they were going to do the cartoon first. I bet it will still be two or three years before we see the live action show, which will be more than enough time for Chux to form a negative opinion and then let it grow to ridiculous proportions.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: Latest on the Star Wars television show
when does the hasbro license to make shitty clonetroopers and pee-eeew figures run out? wasn't it something like 2018? that's enough time to cram in a few seasons of half hour headfuck episodes and churn out masses of badly produced toys. before everything is totally milked to over saturation and the world is guaranteed to die under the weight of all the plastic.
I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.

Yeah, it's something like 2018 so we've got just under a decade of them remaking every clone figure out there and not making anymore OT figures.
I still say we need a SA Cruisemissle Trooper...

I ask again.Ran wrote:Shouldn't that live action turd have been out by now?
Actually, what made me think of this thread was that ESPN and Discovery Channel announced plans for a 3D TV channels. I thought somewhere in the mix about a new Star Wars TV show, Lucas said something about re-releasing all 6 movies in 3D.

At this point, who knows if the live-action show will materialize? I'm sure, at this rate, Lucas's kids will be dead of old age before they get around to it.
Lucas was on The Daily Show last night, and it's funny--he really thinks that anyone who dislikes the prequels does so entirely because they have a rosy view of the originals from when they were kids. Not sure how that explains things like kids who don't like the prequels, or people who were adults when the originals came out.

Any particular reason he was being interviewed? I thought people who hit the interview circuit are usually promoting something.

Directtv has pretty much confirmed a 3D channel and ESPN also said they will show games in 3D. Seriously, Sports in 3D will suck.

Re: Latest on the Star Wars television show
I think Hollywood is going a little too apeshit over 3D. I have yet to see any instance where it's nothing more than a cheesy gimmick.

I don't think that's what he said, but he seemed to agree that that was part of it. Jon Stewart brought up that idea and went along with it. But I liked his quote about liking it or not liking it and it ultimately not mattering - something you should take to heart, anarky.anarky wrote:Lucas was on The Daily Show last night, and it's funny--he really thinks that anyone who dislikes the prequels does so entirely because they have a rosy view of the originals from when they were kids. From what I understand on the 3D thing, they started work on turning ANH into 3D but dropped it since it was prohibitively expensive. But I have to assume this is all getting cheaper, so who knows. George does have a tendency to talk a lot about things before perhaps he should; he's been talking about Red Tails for over 20 years, and he recently mentioned a second animated series in addition to The Clone Wars and the live-action show, but nobody knows anything about it.
As to live-action, I think part of it is that he got more involved with TCW than he originally planned, and was also doing Indy 4, and a bit on Red Tails. I wonder if both TCW and the live-action show will be on in the same time period, or they'll wait for TCW to finish (whenever that is) before moving on?
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
