The more I read about Dark Phoenix, the more it seems like people wanted it to fail. Saw a article yesterday about how the original ending wouldn't have made the movie any better.

Just watched it. It was decent. Right in the middle of the pack as far as X-Men movies go. Not top Five, but not bottom Five either.
The third act train fight was pretty badass. Nightcrawler done got pissed y’all.

Finally saw Dark Phoenix tonight, bought the disc in fact so I'd have the complete set of movies. Wasn't even bad, though I would suggest the effects haven't progressed as nicely over at Fox as they did at Marvel Studios. I would have expected about the same from a CW superhero show a few years ago.

Re: X-Men, X-Men Origins, Wolverine, etc.
Here are my spoilery thoughts on Deadpool & Wolverine. And it’s here in the X-Men topic because, if you’ve seen it, you’ll know its better deserving here than the MCU topic. Other than the TVA and one MCU cameo, this is less an MCU film, and more of a farewell to 20th Century Fox
The opening credit sequence definitely lets you know this is an R-rated movie and N’Sync definitely lets you know it’s a Deadpool movie.
There are meta injokes throughout. Nothing is sacred. I can’t even remember them all, from a Hugh Jackman singing Music Man, to the perpetually delayed Blade reboot. Even ‘The Proposal starring Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. I think I laughed more at the obscure ones, but it was nonstop.
They knew this was probably Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine, so they put several comic easter eggs in the film that people would’ve regretted never having after it was too late. While DP is looking for the correct multiversal we get height accurate Wolverine, AoA Wolverine, a more accurate Old Man Logan, Crucified Wolverine from the cover of UXM 251, Patch in a white tuxedo, Henry Cavill as Wolvie in wifebeater and blue jeans, and the Brown and Tan costume, complete with Hulk’s reflection in the blades(and a Hulk cameo), and the black spandex outfit from his solo series. . And then, in the third act when they fight an army of DP variants(more on that later), he finally puts on the mask. .
And then there are the cameos, although some of them are more than cameos, as they have a decent amount of screen time servicing the plot. And the fans.
Aaron Stanford, Tyler Mane, Kelly Hu, Ray Park returned as Pyro, Sabretooth, Deathstrike, and Toad.
Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.
Chris Evans in a fakeout implied to be Capt America, but really he’s Johnny Storm
Jennifer Gardner as Elektra.
Wesley Snipes as Blade.
Daphne Keen as X-23.
Channing Tatum as a gloriously comics accurate Gambit. Those last four get a fantastic fight set piece showing off their badassery.
Taylor Swift as Dazzler.
There are not one, but two fan service fights between DP and Logan, one of them set to Grease’s ‘You’re the one that I want’. Both are great. And then there’s a showdown between the two of them and like a hundred DP variants. They went all out; Lady Deadpool, Deadpool 2099, Kidpool, Headpool, Cowboypool, Samurai Pool, the list goes on and on. Fucking glorious. All set to ‘Like a Prayer’.
And the end credits playing GreenDay’s ‘Good Riddance’ over a montage of behind the scenes and film footage of all of the Fox films, X-Men, FF, Daredevil, etc was just an emotionally charged chef’s kiss to the whole thing.

Re: X-Men, X-Men Origins, Wolverine, etc.
I'm a bad geek in that I just watched it. Marathoned the three Deadpools and Logan in order.
Just about jizzed my pants over AOA Wolverine. I'm not even an AOA fan, but that was just a deep cut. And crucified Wolvie. Fucking glorious.
I didn't see Dazzler. And one minor correction, that wasn't Ray as Toad. I looked it up because his name was conspicuously absent in the credits, and it's another actor I don't know. It looked and moved just like him.
The only thing I missed: since we finally got mostly comic-accurate Wolverine and Colossus in the same movie, I'd have killed to see a fastball special. However, I recognize it would've come at the expense of diluting the Wolvie/DP relationship.

I was joking about the Dazzler thing. That’s why it wasn’t ‘spoiled’/redacted in my post like the others. I threw it in because the entire internet was theorizing and fancasting her leading up to the film.

Not entirely relevant, but I don't want to make a new topic. This BS drama with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is fast becoming the most ridiculous train wreck ever.

I would never had made the connection that Nicepool was supposed to be that guy. He, in essence, defamed himself when he brought it to everyone’s attention. Therefore he should also sue himself for an additional *snicker* $400 Million.

Re: X-Men, X-Men Origins, Wolverine, etc.
For real. I assumed it was Reynolds just doing the exact opposite of Deadpool, and maybe knocking Canadian stereotypes while he's at it.
This guy seems to be utterly full of shit, and it's like, dude, c'mon, you want to pick a fight? Why would you pick the lady who's married to the guy who's mostly responsible for the biggest R-rated film of all time and whose bestest buddy is the most powerful singer in the world? Fuck Lively's reputation for now; she has two of the biggest names in entertainment at her back and you've got, well, nobody. Pick your battles, dipshit.
