comics rock. talk about them here. now. or just go to the "corn" section and wack off. i'll understand. i'll just sit here and read my spider-man comics.
Dark Tower 6 & 7. Wrapping up the series. Jae Lee does beautiful art. Truly.
Fantastic Four. Good old fashion throw down with the Frightful Four. And Klaw shows up to fight Black Panther for good measure.
World War Hulk. Hulk breaking Dr Strange's hands was priceless. one of those "Oh shit!" moments. Damn this book is good.
Illuminati. Ha. The complaining about the wives part was great. i still don't know when this takes place in continuity. Its very off putting.
JSA. A decent issue focusing on Liberty Belle ( Formerly speedster Jesse Quick). Can't decide if I'm going to keep getting this.
New Warriors. More intrigue about the mysterious Night Thrasher. Did Dwayne Taylor survive Stamford after all? Namorita definitely didn't. (Unless she was a skrull!)
Punisher. The long awaited rematch between Baracuda and Frank! Lots of Death! And Frank's a baby-daddy?!?! Little nitpicking though. 'Cuda lost an ear in his LS, but he has both here. Did someone forget or is this before the LS?
Thor. THor rebuilds Asgard somewhere in oklahoma. Very majestic. Not much going on though. Next month Thor throws down with that dirty Thor-clonin douche, Tony Stark!!
Uncanny X-Men. beautiful Larroca pencils. The Endangered Species back-up takes an interesting turn as well.

Last week:
AS Batman #6 - More good stuff
Tank Girl: The Gifting #2 - More craziness from my favorite artist.
This week:
The Punisher #50 - Another great story, but I wasn't thrilled about the artwork. Barracuda is wrong. He should be a HUGE black guy, not just kinda large. Howard Chaykin is good, but not suited for The Punisher. I'd have preferred Gordon Parlov, the artist has did the Barracuda mini (and first story, IIRC). In the hands of any other writer, I'd be worried about that last page and how it works out.

New Avengers. Holy crap. I'm sorry I read this one first, since everything after it, even if it was good, was mediocre in comparison. That whole scene where Leland Owsley gets capped was AWESOME. Who the fuck is that bald guy? Deathlok is for sale?!?! Wasn't the Luther Manning version running around in the sewers protecting subdwellers? And the Skrull suspicion continues. Now Luke is looking at Jessica. Her "@#$% you" was priceless. This book is so fucking cool, I forgive it for the Lienel Yu art...
Batman. Grant Morrison is so cool. Taking this Silver Age stuff and totally turning it on its ear. Too bad Kubert can't hit his deadlines, but Williams is a fine stand in. The guy wearing John Mayhew's face is fucking creepy.
Exiles. Longshot, please please please cut off the mullet. Seriously. Oh and fuck Claremont.
Ghost Rider. Meh.
GI Joe. Cool dust up between Firefly and Snake-Eyes.
Green Lantern. Second best book this week. The Sinestro Corps War is wicked. It's funny to hear myself say that, but damn its good fun readin!!
Hulk. Since when did Amadeus Cho become the star of the Hulk book? I mean I like him and all, but it ain't his book.
WWH: Frontline. Could care less about the Ben Urich/Sally Jenkins story. THe back up story is mildly amusing with the banter and all, but this is not an essential read.
Nova. A new chick Nova. And darnit, Richard Rider ain't dead. But the final page is fucking classic. Damn, Gamora is hot.
Omega Flight. What the fuck? What was the point of having Beta Ray Bill in the fucking book? Cannot someone just put him on the fucking Avengers please? He would be way cooler than the actual boring ass Thor.
X-Factor. Kinda sorry I havent been reading this all along. Damn good reading. Despite being Peter David. Killer last page.

Criminal #8 - Lawless part 3. More sex, violence and revenge from Brubaker!
Daredevil #99 - Brubaker again. Part 5 of 5 that doesn't really end the story. And the issue ends with a "that's it?" rather than with the big shock I was hoping for. But...it was still a good read. Hopefully #100 will be great.
The Boys #9 - I really wish Ennis could do this series with the superheroes he bases his on. That way, we'd see Batman and Nightwing tag teaming Catwoman.
Star Wars Legacy #15 - I've figured out what my real problem with this series is: far too many characters - Jedi, Sith, Alliance, and two rival factions of the Empire, and each group has a dozen characters each. The big reveal was no big deal. Sort of a meh-velation.
Meh-velation, I think I just created a word!
Punisher: War Journal #10 - Fuck you Matt Fraction. At least "Frank" is starting to get rid of dumb ass Capisher costume.

Booster Gold. It's good to see Dan Jurgens drawing Booster again. And the premise is interesting, especially with the way DCs been retconning left and right lately. Finding and plugging those "plotholes" as an ongoing series? Cool. I might stick around for issue 2.
Captain America. It's like watching someone work on a Rubik's Cube, seeing all these different plot threads twist inoxerably(is that a word? it is now) towards each other. Winter Soldier's dejected realization on the last page was brilliant. Can't wait for the next issue!
Flash. The Old/New series starts up again. Flash and his pre-pubescent one year olds save people with their fancy new powers. Not totally great, but I'll give it a fe wissues to see where they go with it.
Stormshadow. More ninja ass kicking. And they finally, after three issues acknowledge that he has a tatoo on his forearm.
JLA. Brad Meltzer wraps up his run with a "Watch Duty" issue focusing on snippets of the team's personal lives. Two different Alex Ross covers work together to make one bigger one.
Sub-Mariner. This was probably a pretty good issue, but compared with everything else this week, it was meh-diocre.
Wolverine 55. HOLY FUCK! Also, anytime someone gets away with calling Scott Summers a douchebag ( or anybody calling anyone a douchebag) in comics is great. Doing it twice is even better.
Wolverine:Origins. Dammit, I picked up the last two issues. The newest one reprints the entire Uncanny X-Men issue where Logan meets Captain America in WWII Madripoor, drawn by Jim Lee. This book has ust lost its lustre for me, and yet I can't seem to drop it.
New X-Men. Great conclusion to the Darkchild story. A little confusing about the ending. Is Illyana back or not? But a great read. I love Rockslide's new Limbo-rock look. I want that Marvel Legend!
