Steve Carrell is fucking funny in "The Office"
Don't you think? What a fucking KNOB that character is, such a cheap prick.
Oh, and I could have sworn we had a thread about this show.... or was it just kind of spilling over in the 40 year old virgin thread? Either way, this show is worth watching.

yeah, man, he is fucking funny stuff, I try to catch that show every week.... it's funny, it really is just set-ups for carrell to be a stupid prick- that episode where he was making all them super unfunny "prank calls" was pretty damn good, it's odd how somehow unquotabe it is though...
I figured at least one other person here would be digging that show though

That's the only episode I've seen besides the original six episode run. I was wondering how much of it is scripted and how much is improvised and the chick who plays the receptionist was on one of the morning talk shows said the entire thing is meticulously scripted. Every awkward silence or glance is scripted.
Brilliant show.
Brilliant show.

As far as Series Finales go, I'd say that was Exceptional, Classy, and hit all the right notes.

"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"

It was a good finale, but not perfect because so much was a little too perfect...if that makes any sense.

I've only watched sporadically. Was it like the last episode of Seinfeld, a meta-message about the show and its characters that was so spot-on that it pissed everyone off?

Re: Steve Carrell is fucking funny in
In a way. This episode and last week's episode tied into the "documentary" they've been "filming" for the last nine years finally being shown on PBS. And as such, everybody in The Office have become semi-celebrities. The finale jumped forward one year in time from the previous episode. Since we as viewers have been watching this documentary unfold in the form of the actual show, a lot of the farewell messages had a meta quality about them. But in a good way, I thought. It was a hell of a lot better than the finale of 30Rock thats for damn sure. It helped that they knew this was the last season when they started it, so they had all season to bring every character's story arc to a satisfactory close. Truthfully, I hadn't watched the show for several years other than the occasional rerun, but I watched the last couple episodes before the finale.
