Re: The current state of disarray at Marvel

Having just caught up on the current FF run, I looked at a list of all the current ongoings, and tried to figure out which ones I’m enjoying the most. Since I’m reading them in reverse alphabetical order, the ones at the front of the alphabet I haven’t read yet. In fact, for Amazing and Avengers, I’...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

North’s FF run did NOT let me down. In fact, of all the Marvel ongoings I’m keeping current on, it might be my favorite one right now. That might be a post for a different topic. But here’s the rundown on the first 28 issues, which catches me up on the series. Most issues were one off adventures or ...

Re: What have you watched lately?

Meteor. Holy shit, how have I never heard of this movie before? Starring Sean Connery, Karl Malden, Natalie Wood, and Brian Keith(he was Hardcastle on Hardcastle and McCormick). It’s the plot of Armageddon and Deep Impact, but it was made in 1979. A meteor flies thru the asteroid belt out past Mars ...

I’m getting to the point in my life where I don’t need sad energy in my life. The real world is just fucking depressing; I don’t need fake depressing on top of it. Don’t care how good the acting is.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

As promised, an FF oneshot, and a couple minis. FF Anniversary Tribute. A bunch of different artists, each one doing a page, recreate the first issue of FF, and also the annual where Reed and Sue get married. I think they’ve done this before with Captain America or the Avengers. Kind of a cool conce...

Re: Football

I thought for sure Allen had the first down. That was a crucial bullshit moment. There’s a bunch of different people on various social media sites that break that attempt down and he is CLEARLY across the line. And that ball clearly hit the ground. Should've been incomplete, not a ‘tie goes to the ...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Fantastic Four! I read the first half of Dan Slott’s run way back in April of 2022. I am finishing it up in January of 2025. FF 30. A King in Black tie in. Ben and Johnny are two of the heroes who got turned into evil Knull-ified symbiotes during the event. Val also gets turned. While they are evil,...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Here’s the final batch of the store closing books. It’s mostly Superman. Speed Force 1. Six issue mini. I only got the first issue. Kid Flash and the Flash from China get their own mini series. Someone has weaponized the ficticious Spotify in the DCU and is using it to brainwash people. Meh. Superbo...

Re: King Kong - Talk to me.

I realize this topic was for the Peter Jackson remake, but we don’t have a topic for the Godzilla/Kong monsterverse movies. I just watched Godzilla x Kong: New Empire. These movies are getting more and more ridiculous. Not in a bad way, just in a ridiculous way. They give Kong a mecha robot arm so h...

Re: JJ Abrams new Star Trek movie...

I watched ToS after school when I was a kid, so I’d seen most of the episodes two or three times each as a kid. I’ve rewatched them in their entirety probably once a decade since then. I have all three seasons on DVD and most recently, I rewatched them on P+ after I got streaming. I would tell peopl...

Re: JJ Abrams new Star Trek movie...

I started watching Section 31, the straight to streaming ST movie starring Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. It’s only 90 minutes long, and it. is. Wretched. I knew it was wretched about ten minutes in, but continued to muscle thru it for another forty minutes before I just couldn’t anymore. I know none o...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

January is a five week month, so some of the publishers ship next week’s books with this week’s books to save shipping costs. My guy doesn’t bother checking which is which and just puts everything out, so I had a larger than normal week’s worth of books. But that mean next week will be super small. ...
