...the only damage in the earthquake this morning was the destruction of one Hellboy figure and one Doctor Who figure. Total devastation.

Okay, not really. Despite this being felt in Palm Springs (and us being directly between Palm Springs and the epicenter in Chino Hills), we felt nothing. Seriously. By coincidence, we turned on the TV about five minutes after it hit, and were shocked that there'd been an earthquake.

Hopefully our other folks in the LA area aren't buried under rubble. Aside from one intersection in Chino Hills that looks to be sinking due to a broken water main, and a lot of broken items that fell from shelves, so far there are no reports of damage that I'm aware of.

Funny story. I was in a grocery store buying food for the office, and apparently my mutant power is immunity to shockwaves. I didn't know a quake had occured until I heard the cashier and another customer twittering excitedly about " a 5.6"...

Two fuckin' years i've lived out here without a good quake story and I miss out on the first one.

The news said that it was felt in Las Vegas. We didn't notice it, but we live on the north side.

My parents happen to be here visiting. Mom got text messages from both my brothers.

That was my brother's first earthquake. He was at work at ABC and thought it was construction on the floor above him.

I was in the damn shower! First I thought it was a large truck, then I thought it was a bomb, then I realized it was an earthquake (all this occurred in my head in less than a nanosecond) then I bolted out of the shower to see the bathroom door shift diagonally as the biggest part of the shockwave hit. I ran to check on Mr. Jasper (my cat) who was actually standing under a door jam then realized I was totally naked with soap all over.

My friend Cass who is hanging out with me was in bed and just rode it out there. She thought the same thing as I did about the truck, then the bomb. Then we just started laughing.

I'd say about 30 of my figs fell but nothing major at all, except that damn door shifting diagonally, that was just weird!

Yeahhhh...i got home that night and found half my figures on the floor or toppled over on the shelves. Luckily nobody is broken. I still haven't set them back up. I was looking for an excuse to rearrange and find room for my SDCC haul anyway...

It was some scary shit. We felt it all the way out here in Va. My wife fell off the bed, but she didnt get broken.

On a serious, yet retarded note, the fucking news kept showing the same 5 pictures ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT of shampoo bottles, wine bottles and some other stupid junk that had fallen on the ground, obviously they were hard up for news!

When we turned on CNN, they just kept showing some idiot walking around an Ace Hardware store interviewing people.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on a minute. I think I might be in the lead there. I don't want to brag, but I have slept in the same bed as Seven on numerous occasions. And by numerous, I mean 3 times. And by the way, I'm not joking. I honestly have slept in the same bed with her (*breathes on and then buffs my nails on the breast of my shirt). And we also had sex. She was asleep during it all, but it still counts.
