The old smuggler that sold us the location of these caves said the creatures are called "tauntauns." He didn't know much else about them, except that they smelled terrible and that he'd heard tales of some of his fellow smugglers once taming the things and using them as mounts. We'd figured the tauntauns might make a good source of food, but now that we're having so much trouble with the speeders, I've been given the unenviable task of leading the Alliance's first tauntaun training unit. I just had to go and tell the lieutenant how much the damned things reminded me of the Ycaqts I used to ride back on Velmor, before my family moved to Corellia.
i like how it's sort of a cross between my name and rollo's somehow. weird.

I wasn't meaning that as an insult. I think he's the only one of us who's not disillusioned by Star Wars after the prequels.

I was disillusioned by CaptainSolo's mom DURING the prequels.
I wasn't disillusioned by those movies, I just thought they were fun.

I actually do still have one, I think. There's really nothing worth checking anymore, since they fucking NEVER give updates on anything and I don't need to see concept art for that damn video game. I might let it lapse when it runs out in a few months since the magazine and online thing are separate again (which is the only reason I had it in the first place).
I should use weird-ass vynsane names for that "make-a-background" thing, though. If some fucker can name the lion-guy from the Holiday Special after Kevin Bacon, then I should be able to do something similar.

I gave up on it when it became obvious I was paying to receive targeted advertising. Ooh, boy, I can see artwork for a video game they'll want me to buy, or I can view the same Clone Wars episodes I have on DVD!!
The whole "let the fanboys make up the EU" is such a stupid idea for multiple reasons. First, fanboys are inherently fucking retarded. Fan fiction is the worst excuse for fiction around, since it's not about storytelling, but how much one can prove what minutae he recalls. Second, this really fences it possible future EU stories by real storytellers. Not that they seem to give a shit about that anymore, though, judging from the Legacy garbage.

I don't really mind the "What's the Story" feature too much, as long as the characters don't interact with any major players or events. Everything is so damn coincidental already; these can often make it worse.

But the problem is, since they're written by fanboys, they always do intersect with the major characters.
