Striptease

I have never seen this movie.

I was told by someone when it came out that it wasn't very good and, despite the title, there was no nudity.

My source was inaccurate. If I could remember who it was, I would track them down and pimp-slap them.

I just caught a little of it on HBO. Some of the bits I saw were quite funny.

I was more interested in Demi's tits and ass, though, of which I got to see a fair amount. That woman had a damned fine body when she made that movie. Suddenly, Ashton Kutcher doesn't seem quite the dumbass he did before.

She was gorgeous - perfect cans.... jelly-mold perfect. Whichever surgeon performed that miracle of modern medicine should be very proud.

Burt Reynolds, Ving Rhames, and Robert Patrick were quite humorous in it as well.

Yeah, they were responsible for most of the humorous bits I alluded to. Especially Burt.

Even if there were no actual nudity, this seemed like a movie that'd be worth watching.

There is nudity. You see her cans, and see her in bra and panties at least one other time.

The other stripper (Pandora Peaks, it may have been) is also running around backstage at the strip joint with her huge melons out.

I know there is nudity. I saw some, and quite enjoyed it. I was surprised the then-Mrs Willis showed as much as she did.

My point is that, even if there wasn't any actual nudity, it still looked like it would be a good film. Not great, but good.

Didn't critics initially slam it because she got such a huge paycheck for doing the movie? That's what fucktards don't understand, studios pay $11 million for B.O. drawing power, not for $11 million worth of acting. I don't think it was that great a movie, but it didn't need the harsh beating it took.

Same with Waterworld. It was slammed long before the movie was done simply because it cost so damned much. It was doomed from the get-go.

Sad, because it was a cool movie. By no means the best movie ever made, but enjoyable.

Funny, though, that no one bitched when Titanic cost something like six times as much to make. And it was boring.

Waterworld kicked ass.

I'll get flak for this, but Costner is probably the single most underrated director in Hollywood.

Sure, everyone recognizes that Dances With Wolves is a frigging masterpiece.

But Waterworld is, too. And so is The Postman.

There, I said it. It took some balls to do, but I admitted that I think The Postman kicks the shit out of most Hollywood movies I've seen.

Yes, the futuristic movie about the breakdown of society, not the Chilean or the Italian story about Pablo Neruda's postman (though they're both quite good, too). And that's even without taking the Tom Petty cameo into account.

i'll admit to never having seen "the postman" so i can't really comment on that one. i will say, however, that i think costner is one of the single most OVER-rated actors. he plays each character the same way - how is robin hood anything like a corn growing hick in middle america who's obsessed with baseball? oh, yeah. they both act exactly the same.

and waterworld was mad max. on water.

Ah, the inevitable Mad Max comparison. Why is that? Because they are both dystopian visions of the future? That's a pretty broad generalization. And Dennis Hopper's Deacon is one of the best villains ever. And Costner's Mariner was such an asshole, it was brilliant.

"You said you wouldn't kill me!!"

"Did I? Oh I may have, I may have. Kill him for me."

I too enjoyed The Postman. I though it got a little slow/long in parts but all the acting, especially Will Patton's was invoking.

I thought this movie was pretty good as I do with Waterworld. Actually Waterworld is one of my favorite movies. How can you not love Dennis Hopper in it?

And Jeanne Tripplehorn is HOT. Even if that is a body double when she gets completely nekked.
