Re: Superman
Lookin' good. I guess Snyder and Cavill lobbied hard for the traditional suit, and those assclowns at DC (Nelson, Didio, Harras, Lee, and Johns) overruled them. So I won't hold it agianst the filmmakers for that faux pas. There's even a shot of the ersatz Zod in there for anarky to tug it to.
"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."

Re: Superman
Tried watching it, but then a commercial for shampoo came on the TV and was so much better.
I really don't get why people are impressed with this, but complain Superman Returns was too "emo." Fuck that. This is a bunch of poorly-cast actors play acting at DCnU Superman on the leftover sets from Dark Knight Rises.

Re: Superman
There's a tiny village in the Sudan that doesn't know Superman's origin yet. This movie is for them.
Although, in the fulmmakers' defense, after his origin story he gets boring.

Re: Superman
Warner Bros just threw out their Justice League script.
Because they hate Super Heroes.
Ironically they've spent more on lawsuits and attorney fees retaining the rights to IP characters they loathe and are scared shitless to put on the big screen than the actual budget of a Justice League film would cost them.

Re: Superman
There's some subliminal message in the newest trailer that seems to make people think this movie looks like not-shit.
I'm not seeing it. Particularly when they actually show Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, and Amy Adams this time and it's full-on ballkick painful how miscast they are.

Re: Superman
Tried to respond to your facebook post.
Superman Returns was good, but it needed a villain for Superman to fight. Its just a movie where Superman lifts heavier and heavier things.
"the most poorly-cast superhero film ever made." Ummm...Ghost Rider?
Saying The Dark Knight is a "decent crime drama" and a "mediocre Batman" film is just absurd. Then again, you think "The Brave and the Bold" is quality Batman.
Although, you finally watched and appreciated the genius of Firefly, so I can't say there's no hope for you.
Just very little hope.

Re: Superman
Batman doesn't act like Batman. "The Joker" sure as hell ain't the Joker. It's a good movie, if you don't know anything about Batman.
And, yes, Kevin Costner and Amy Adams trump Nicolas Cage in this case.

I'm not sure we the same version of The Dark Knight, unless you consider goofy, smiley Batman your thing.anarky wrote:Batman doesn't act like Batman. "The Joker" sure as hell ain't the Joker. It's a good movie, if you don't know anything about Batman.
I didn't know there was a stereotypical Pa Kent type that Costner doesn't live up to. Would you prefer one of the Duke boys?anarky wrote:And, yes, Kevin Costner and Amy Adams trump Nicolas Cage in this case.
And Amy Adams has got to be better than Kate Bosworth.

Re: Superman
Whoa whoa whoa, why all the Kevin Costner hate? He'll make a fine Johnathan Kent.
Russell Crowe looks like he just showed up a filmed his scenes with his five day beard, but whatever. It's Russell Crowe. The guy oozes talent in everything he does.
That Amy Adams scene was pretty weak. But I won't hold an entire film to one cheese line reading.
I won't say the trailer got me MORE excited for the film, but I am looking forward to it.

I like Kevin Costner.
It's just that Gilbert Gottfried would've been better cast as Pa Kent.
