and i'm going to put up a sample page of either a comic synopsis or character bio today. then i gots to figure out how to create a dynamic database-controlled website!

i'm having problems coming up with ranks for the spidey forum... the last three are "sensational" "spectacular" and "amazing" but i don't know what to do with the rest... i've got ten in all to fill. the way i have them now is

"Science Nerd"
"Neophyte Crime-fighter"
"Feared Vigilante"
"Black Costume"
"Friendly Neighborhood Crime-fighter"
"Scarlett Spider"
"New Avenger"
"Sensational"
"Spectacular"
"Amazing"

lmk what you guys think...

oh, and can you guess what the moderators will be called?

Funny, I just checked out ilikeitinmygayass.com, and it turns out it's The Official Darthvyn Fan Club.

I love the color scheme, very appropriate.

For ranks, unless these are way too obscure, may I suggest "Confused Possible Clone" and "Fantastic Four Wannabe"? And howsabout "Wields the Power Cosmic" for the mods. (Mods should all speak in character as various Marvel characters. Might I nominate Green Hulk?)

You definitely need a "Spider-Man TV" forum. There may not be as much traffic, but the guy's had a bazillion different shows. There could be a special sub-forum devoted to how much "Spider-Man Unlimited" blows.

If you're dividing current comics, I'd suggest a forum for older titles as well. Otherwise, with Marvel Team-Up, etc, etc, etc, there could be a crapload of forums. Also, a "Marvel: Other" might be worth adding.

I also see there's no spot for Spidey collectibles at the moment.

I was thinking of just making one "Clone?" instead of "Scarlett Spider" - bit i actually have a soft spot for the scarlett spider, so i might leave it be... maybe i'll make that instead of "friendly neighborhood crime-fighter" as that's pretty long, and i already have the "friendly neighborhood webmaster" for the admin.

the mods are already ranked as "Sinsiter Six" - so that's how it will stay. not that i will only accept ACTUAL memebers of the SS, but i think it's appropriate... a counterpart to the MTS here...

oh, and that reminds me, i forgot one thing: Spidey's Web - the counterpart to THE NEGATIVE ZONE.

Spider-man TV is coming. it's something i thought about then forgot. thanks for reminding me.

spider-man unlimited. is that the one where he went to an alternate dimension, or the one with doogie howser as the voice?

yeah, i was thinking of having individual areas for each "live" comic, and then a separate one for series that have ended. i don't know what to do about "other" though - separate it into publishers, only have "marvel" or just one lump "other"?

i have a "spidey toys" category (it's invisible unless you're logged in, as it has no sub-forums below it...) - maybe i'll make that "spidey collectibles" and have "toys" under that...

Yeah, Spidey Unlimited was the other dimension. It narrowly beats the 90s Spider-Man series, Fantastic Four, and The Bat-Man as the worst comic-based TV series ever.

A cool thing about the Sinister Six is you're not really limited to six.

yeah, i figured not only did they have a rotating roster, with some bench-warmers always ready for the show, it would be funny if there were like, 9 members of the sinister SIX anyway!

and i forgot to mention. instead of being "banned" you get "WEBBED!" there, like you get "DOOMED!" here... man, i have too much fun with that stuff...

EDIT: anyone who wants to, feel free to sign up there. i know you might be streching youselves too thin, what with here, the other site and any other dens of iniquity and debauchery you belong to, but if you're looking to talk spidey, sign on up.

you figured out that i have email validation on, didn't you... and i love the name, good job of working a new theme into the old monicker!

oh, and if you guys think there's anyone at the other site that would be into the spidey site, let 'em know about it. i really don't talk comics too much over there, but i'm sure there's more people that would be interested...
