Ultrasabers, Saberforge, etc...
Anyone ever buy anything from either https://ultrasabers.com or https://saberforge.com? Ultrasabers keeps popping up in my FB feed - their stuff looks cool and pretty high-standard. Apparently their stuff was commissioned by Disney for the Jedi Temple experience in Hollywood Studios, so they can't be low quality. I haven't looked as thoroughly at Saberforge, but it looks like they also do blaster replicas as well.
Anyone have any dealings with either site? I'm thinking of doing a $70 'mystery saber' from ultrasabers to start with.

so, in doing some research, and talking to some other people who have products from both (and more), i'm leaning towards Saberforge. they have a modular system that allows you to assemble a relatively unique hilt from a variety of components, which are categorized as emitters, switches, bodies, and pommels. they have a lot of stuff out of stock at the moment, but i've been able to assemble a good looking hilt out of items they have in stock in the finish i want:

oh, yeah, they have a 3-D preview site that allows you to build any combination you want! i'm not going to purchase electronics at this time, so it will be an empty hilt. they have what they call a 'day blade' - basically a colored version of their polycarbonate blade used with light effects (https://saberforge.com/collections/sabe ... ge-d-blade) which i might include in the purchase. with the blade, the subtotal is $168 before shipping, so i might remove the blade from the cart... still not sure on that.

Cool! Don't hit your brother with it or there won't be any desert.

Re: Ultrasabers, Saberforge, etc...
heh, i mean, it's really the only reason to buy one in the first place.
i'm finding more and more that the sabercrafting hobby is REALLY intense. i seem to have made a good purchase by not having them pre-install the electronics, as there are some really impressive open-source soundboards and lighting options. over time i will kit this out with custom internals, based on proffieOS.
i ended up buying a blue day blade and a 'blade plug' (a short polycarbonate tube with an endcap that can have plain or various designs - this one, to be exact) to insert into the empty emitter when the blade is not attached.

If you want, we can cut down on the girth and shorten up the custom made The Grin Brand Dildo we made for Slicker's mom. We can even do any color you want. Then you just have to slip it in your lightsaber. Your wife will love it, too!

yeah, can't wait to install the 'flesh tone' colors...
putting this here, as it's a nice combo that was auto-generated by the randomizer:

Re: Ultrasabers, Saberforge, etc...
Not exactly, but somewhat. Apparently, the emitter is from their prefab saber inspired by Corran Horn's lightsaber scrapped together from the handlebar of a speederbike and parts from a TIE fighter. The grip section is similar. They have a more QGJ like one, but it was out of stock. QGJ didn't have a flared pommel like this one does. The pommel and grip section are both used together on their Kanan Jarrus-inspired hilt.

Re: Ultrasabers, Saberforge, etc...
i may have an addiction. last week i ordered another two full hilts (two emitters, two switches, two bodies, and two pommels), an additional switch (because i'm not really happy with the one i ordered last time, the really thin black one), and some missing accessories that i skimped on last time (blade plugs, covertech wheels and a battery sled to use when testing components).
Emitter 03 Mk2 Emitter 15
Switch 12 Switch 13 Switch 17 Body 03 Venom Body Pommel 01 Pommel 12 Blade plug 2.2 (weathered)
