I fucking hate close-minded bigots.

Yesterday, I was driving home, and there were a bunch of guys in suits at a busy intersection supporting the proposed CA constitutional ban on gay marriage. They had signs that said, "Honk if you support traditional marriage: one man and one woman!" Instead, I yelled at them. It wasn't mature, but they weren't mature. They have their heads up their asses. It's no different from holding up signs saying marriage is one white man and one white woman. And, fuck, these dumb shits look like they're not going to be getting any marriage proposals from either gender anytime soon.

Seriously, man, what the fuck does it matter if two guys who are in love want to have the benefit of health insurance, or be able to enjoy the other rights of families? Am I somehow less married if Portia deRossi marries her fugly-ass girlfriend?

Goddammit, even if you think it's a mortal sin, why not pay as much attention to Matthew 7:1 (usually translated as "Judge not, lest ye be judged") as you do to frigging Leviticus? C'mon, the New Testament explicitly says the laws of the Old don't apply a few times over. If they did, we'd all be burning our food and kicking women out of the village for being on their period and not eating pork and shellfish. And stoning a lot of people for really minor stuff. Just shut up, let everyone enjoy the same rights on Earth that you do, and let God decide if anyone's done anything bad.

What's disgusting is that they're now fearmongering worse than the love child of the KKK in the 60s and George W Bush. The current ad campaign says, "This is no longer about tolerance," trying, I guess, to imply they're something other than fucking real-life Snigtad Flornbis. It makes all these outrageous claims about churches losing tax-exempt status if they don't perform gay marriages, and schools being required to teach gay marriage to kids as early as kindergarten.

Totally untrue bullshit.

How the fuck is it defending marriage to keep it out of the hands of 10% (by most estimates) of the people in the country? You want to defend marriage, you pass a fucking constitutional amendment banning divorce.
