Let me say first off that any movie made before a certain year, (we'll say 1939 since it had so many brilliant movies) was basically a learning period for hollywood and anymovie on the list made during this period is probably on their for sentimental reasons and not because it's a "Great" movie. I realize that's a personal opinion and if you can find a movie that deserves to be on the list over 100 other movies, then tell me.
"The General" is fucking funny and Keaton was indeed a genius, but that is NOT a top 100 film. Same Thing with "A Night At The Opera". The Marx Brothers were geniuses, but none of their movies are better than any other 100 films out there. It's like they felt they had to give props to at least one movie from each creative movie persona, regardless of the overall quality of any single film. And "Intolerance" and "Sunrise"? Are you fucking kidding me? "Birth Of A Nation" has no business being on anybody's list anywhere so thank goodness it got dropped.

Many of the other films on the list were reflective of the time period they were made in and not so much "Great" films as they were incendiary and thought provoking. Many of the barriers and issues they dealt with in their time period have been broken through and the film that remains might not be as "classically Great" as before.

Of the four films, LOTR, Private Ryan, Sixth Sense, and Titanic, I am not sure all of them deserve status on the list. Sixth Sense is a great movie, but certainly not Top 100 of all time. Titanic holds the $$ record and I'm sure deserves some spot on the list for its ambitiousness, but I think even 83 might be too generous. Private Ryan definitely deserves a spot, and I think FOTR, which is emblematic of the whole LOTR Saga, probably should be higher. Where is American Beauty? or The Matrix? Hell even L.A. Confidential. I mean seriously, Tootsie gets to stay on the list?

i'm surprised to see most of the movies that were dropped. especially "rebel without a cause" and "guess who's coming to dinner" - both great films AND both films that resonated with the energy of the era in which they were created.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

Why the fuck did they put Citizen Kane at #1 again? I'd rather jam a twig up my peehole than watch that boring piece of shit again.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

They also fiddled around with even the top five - Casablanca used to be better than the Godfather but apparently not anymore.

But hey, at least SW stepped up two places to #13, eh?
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
