He was sitting with/next to her at the Oscars. She looked a little young to be his "date" but if she was, at least he's back in the game. 
In the past few years, he's donated a lot to a MLK statue and expressed interest in making a movie about the Tuskegee airmen. Maybe she influenced this? I have no idea.
