Re: SUPER TROOPERS
Holy shit, the first one came out in 2001??
Fuck, I'm old.
Also, at what point do people...or SHOULD people...stop clamoring for a sequel to a cult hit?

Re: SUPER TROOPERS
Well before now in this case. No chance it's even in the same ballpark as the original.

Re: SUPER TROOPERS
Well, apparently they announced new episodes of Twin Peaks yesterday, as if anyone was clamoring for that. Who knows? We may finally get Serenity 2 in the nursing home.

Have there been any that have been even close to being on par with the original?Tom Foolery wrote:Also, at what point do people...or SHOULD people...stop clamoring for a sequel to a cult hit?
Anchorman 2
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Tron Legacy
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Superman Returns
And so many more have been failures, either at the box office or just panned in general (or roasted on the internet).
As much as I like the idea of sequels to movies I love, like this or Dumb and Dumber, I get worried every time they announce one.

They just started showing repeats of the original over here. Smacks of desperation to me. Didn't it get cancelled for being too esoteric originally? Hence the follow up movie to clarify things that was as clear as mud. Still love the score for the show though.
I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.

Another trailer. I don't have a good feeling about it.

Re: SUPER TROOPERS
Okay, there were some parts in there I chuckled at.
But you can’t recapture the lightning of the first film. It’s gonna be a letdown no matter what.

The Mountie part had me pleasantly surprised - I'm a little sad they didn't call me

Re: SUPER TROOPERS
Saw it yesterday. As expected, it was mediocre. I had a good laugh in a few places, but mostly mild chuckles. There was a lot of callbacks to the first film. It wasn’t awful though. The montage of them pulling people over dressed as Mounties was the funniest part of the movie. And the outtakes at the end.
