That looks like a parody of a trailer.
And shitty.
And possibly hilarious.
But shitty.

Aside from looking like utter sloth shit, that just did not make sense. Stephen Baldwin is looking for ancient treasure in Venice, but gangsters get on his trail, and the treasure is guarded by supersharks? What the fuck? Did someone drink a bit too much, watch Jaws: The Revenge and National Treasure: Book of Secrets back to back, and say, "Oh, man, I've got the best fucking idea EVAR!"

Scott To Pass Go For Monopoly Movie
12 November 2008 8:16 AM, PST
Director Ridley Scott will helm the bizarre big screen adaptation of popular boardgame Monopoly.
The Gladiator moviemaker has been signed by studio giant Universal to bring the long-running game to life.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ridley will give the Monopoly movie a futuristic edge akin to his 1982 epic Blade Runner.
Corpse Bride screenwriter Pamela Pettler has also been drafted in to create a storyline for the film.
The unlikely subject matter is just one in a line of Hasbro games to get big screen makeovers as part of an exclusive pairing with Universal Studios.
Transformers filmmaker Michael Bay is producing a Ouija Board feature, while a film version of beloved classic Battleship is also in development.

I hate Ain't it cool news with a passion, but their comments on the Monopoly Movie had me rolling. You don't even have to read the actual comments, just scroll down the list of titles.

Yes Man looks like a slight variation of Liar Liar. So not only is it not a new idea, they are using the same actor.

I've been saying the same thing since I saw the first trailer this summer. Glad to know it's not just me.

Re: Hollywood has NOT run out of ideas...
Ugh...I forgot about that Monopoly movie. It looks like they are still doing it, and Hungry Hungry Hippos.
The real reason I revived this topic is because of a new trend I noticed. They did those movies based on Snow White last year. Now there is a commercial on tv for Hanzel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. And today I saw a trailer for a movie based on Jack and the Bean Stalk. So I guess the new thing is to modify fairy tales?

And don't forget Grimm and Once Upon A Time on TV.
I saw the huge cardboard standee for Hansel&Gretel at the theatre. The movie looks dumb(like a shittier sequel to Van Helsing) but Gemma Aterton as Gretel is fucking HAWT.
