A Painted House

Post by Eternal Padawan »

by John Grisham

My mom recommended this one to me. I've read other Grisham and he's been hit and miss for me. But this one is his first "non-lawyer" book and it was fairly entertaining in a down south, home spun kind of way. It's the story of a cotton farming family in 1950's Arkansas told through the eyes of a seven year old boy. It ends rather abruptly and I wonder if he's planning on making a series out of young Luke Chandler's growing up.

I find myself wondering too - and I've never even read the book. I must have read this thread about 8 times, though. Make that 9. I need to get out more.
