sherlock holmes

so, i'm looking to buying a comprehensive set of the holmes stories... anyone have something like that, which they would suggest? amazon has 'the new annotated sherlock holmes' which has three volumes: two comprised of the short stories and a third containing the four novels. not sure if this is worth it or not... i was on www.sherlockian.com and they mentioned a 1967 annotated set that was the pinnacle, though it's hard to come by now.

i'm sure barnes & noble has a cheap set of all the stories in paperback as they are almost all in public domain now... but i'm sure i'd get a lot more out of the stories with the annotated volumes...

Did you find what you were looking for?

I don't think I've ever read a Sherlock Holmes story.

i borrowed my step-dad's compilation that has basically everything in one volume, but only got to read 'a study in scarlet' - which was pretty freakin' awesome. i look forward to reading the rest.
