The hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

books are important. a dying art. please, please, let me know that there are still people out there that read more than just magazines.

I have no interest in either. The story sounds boring and contrived and the movie looks like a piece of homeless man's shit.

The movie was just OK. A bit too weird and not as funny as it looks like it was supposed to be.

It's quite a funny read, though five books and a short story aren't exactly a traditional trilogy. I recommend it. And we all know my recommendation is law, so read it now.

I'm in the middle of reading the Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide, which is the compilation of all of the stories and I must agree they are pretty gosh darn tootin' funny. I'm only in the third book, but the first two were great. Third one is going a little slow for me, but I'm also busier with other things. Movie is on my Netflix Queue though. I heard it's not as good as the book, but that is usual. Hollywood can't seem to do things right.

I bought the "complete" one at a second-hand shop for 50 cents, and Icanstill laugh myself silly at a lot of it...

The first 2 books were indeed the best, once D.Adams started to get all super-reflective and a bit preachy the books are less fun, so it ain't just you jdr3
