Douglas Coupland

Canadian, dry, and full of sarcasm. His novels always (well, as near as "always" someone can get who's only read about half of someone's work) make me feel a bit stupid for wanting things.... seems to me he has a huge urge to be able to slow things down, step outside himself (the things society has decided he should care about, I'm thinking) and get back to nature.

I really like his books, particularly when I agree with his points - they make me feel smarter than I actually am. :)
