Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
I've read all 8 issues, but the lag is so long between them that I can literally only remember snippets of the entire story. 8th issue & finally, the main crisis appears to have been set in motion.
The X-Men Christmas Special was worth the money, cute & wistful enough in the right number of spots for me anyhow. Cool cover on my copy as well (although I'm struggling with who the fuck that actually is.... who the fuck actually is that???):

I’m thinking that’s a Tom deFalco mid-90s villain.
Occulus?

I barely remembered him.
Because, not counting Handbooks and Marvel Encyclopedia, he’s only been in 8 issues in the last 25 years.
Not sure that’s worthy of getting his own ‘FF Villains’ variant cover...

I just got the latest Joe: ARAH and Rom Vol. 3.
Knowing there's a definite end made me decide to get all one Hasbroverse collections I skipped.

I’m not saying I spent $100 on comics today.
But.
Hypothetically, if I had gone to McDonalds after buying my comics today and ordered something off the dollar menu, I would’ve spent $100 today.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
All the covers on Marvel Comics this month have a unifying theme honoring Stan Lee. No logos. Just a black bar across the top of the comics that says
“Stan Lee-1922-2018”
The title, issue numbers, and red Marvel Logo are innocuously situated at the bottom of the cover. The backs of the books are comepletely black except for the upc strip with the price/rating code.

They were very nice. I looked at a few but stayed strong. My latest purchases were Detective 996 (997 maybe?) and whatever issue of Batman was most recent. Nearly there - the owner was asking which coverS of Detective 1000 I was planning on buying, I said just the regular & I'll have a look at the rest - not falling down that expensive hole. I'm expecting it to be a $15 book after taxes & US exchange.

I still haven't decided which cover I want.
The Frank Miller is cool, but he's watered down his Batman so much.
The Bruce Timm world be better if it were TAS-style.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
Looks like Tim Sale, Jim Lee & Frank Miller in that order - not sure if I'll buy more than the one I like best. There are 3 Artgerm covers, one of which is a store exclusive set in the Golden Age style - pretty awesome, but not obtainable without ebay I don't think:

The final volume of Lost Light.
I'm not going to pretend tears weren't shed.
Not sure what hit me harder--Rung being completely forgotten, Megatron presumably being executed, or Rodimus becoming a has-been boozehound. Everyone's life went to shit. Thank Primus that their experiment worked, and there's another version of the crew running around in a new universe (where, God willing, we could possibly see them again).
