Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
I was debating on how to read all these books. Whether I should read them in the order they came out, which would mean going back and forth with all the minis or just read the main series and “spoil” the tie-ins.
I decided to read the main series(which I did already) and then just fill in the side stories afterwards. Many of the ‘side missions’ story arcs are referenced during the main book and the tie-ins just flesh out those adventures.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
DC fucked up their shipping again this week, so I missed out on WW, Red Hood, and a couple Dark Metal tie-ins. DC starting to piss me off. Three Jokers showed up at least.
But on the plus side, I got all seven Timeless variants that came out from Marvel. He only ordered 4 copies of FF and it was one of each of the covers, so cleaned him out of FF this week.
At some point, I’m gonna have to go back and get them regular covers of these books...hopefully they’ll be in the $1 bins somewhere eventually.

Such a great set. I hope my Giant Size Storm comes in like that, they didn't receive their full allotment at the store so we'll have to wait & see.

I got 4 of the 5 Alex Ross variants; Thor, Wolverine, Iceman, and Beast. My guy didn’t order the Black Widow cover for some reason.
And that $9.99 Amazing Spidey book all the spines were boofed up during shipping. That’s fucking annoying when you’re dropping ten on one book.

Yeah I would have been all "fuck that" & whatnot. Can't they return the shitty ones? But then there's no guarantee any more will be available.

My guy(and I’m assuming most comic shops) walk a razor wire when it comes to ordering. So sending stacks of damaged books back, he’s gonna lose all those sales because people will just go to one of the eight other dealers in town to get that issue. And not wait until next week or the week after when “good” copies come in(assuming those copies won’t be equally damaged in transit). That’s why he didn’t get the Alex Ross Widow cover. Because it was solicited after the other variants and he had already put his order in for it, he didn’t want to “up” his order on it and get stuck with extra issues he couldn’t sell. Some of these books he’s only order 3, 2, or even a single copy because he knows that’s what’s gonna sell.

The business model sucks. That tilting windmills article about the lenticular legacy covers applies again here for sure.

Got the Phoenix, Black Panther, Colossus, and Spider-Man covers. Didn’t get the Falcon cover. So now I’m missing two of them; Falcon and Black Widow. Ugh.
Also read the first issue of Rorschach. I like that it subtly referenced the HBO series without beating you over the head with it. I don’t know if it will make more pointed references to it as the story progresses, but if they’re both “in continuity” it will kind of have to, right?

I'm intrigued by Rorshach but I'll trade wait at the minimum, then see if I remember to buy it when the trade comes out. ><

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
Characters who should also be getting Alex Ross timeless variants, but thus far have not.
1. Hawkeye
2. Vision
3. Frank Castle
Those three definitely because they’re in the fucking mural Marvel commissioned from Ross that’s in their HQ.
4. Quicksilver. If Wanda gets one, her brother should.
5. Luke Cage and
6. Iron Fist. Because the other 70s mainstays Shang-Chi and Ghost Rider got one(and also Frank)
7. Mar-Vell.
8. Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel. Because if Mar-Vell gets one, Carol definitely should. But also because She-Hulk and Spider-Woman got one.
After that, it gets more argumentative.
9. Deadpool? It’s arguable he’s the most recognizable Marvel character from the last 30 years that isn’t a “classic” character.
10. Nova? He’s been around since the 70s also.
Venom? Miles? Kamala? Any Guardians, either classic or modern?
I’d be more inclined to give some classic A-list villains the Timeless treatment before getting into the more obscure heroes. Magneto, Doom, Green Goblin, Red Skull, Kang, etc

No, those are characters who ARENT getting covers (so far) but I thought they should, if you look at the characters who DID get covers.
The entire thing is based on a giant mural Ross did for the Marvel home office that takes up an entire wall or something.
