NYX #3 - a few hundred dollars?

Post by Diabolical »

I knew it was the first appearance of X23 and figured her first appearance was worth a few bucks, but one of my local shops is selling it for over $300.
I figured it was a typical overcharge until I looked at ebay prices.

They also had NYX #4 for almost $200.

I need to put those bitches in better cases.

Yes, yes you do. And if you have Kamala Khan, Miles Morales' & the new Riri chick that's taking over the Iron Man suit, I'd suggest you do the same for those.

:frus: Yeah, I just realized I don't have Capt Marvel 14, the 1st app of Kamala, and it's going for ridiculously high prices. I'm missing 12,14, and 16 from that series. :frus:

Pretty soon the Surfer is going to be the only hero that hasn't been replaced by a younger version. Unless, of course, he gets replaced by a younger version.

I loathe X-23 so much, I think retailers should pay you to take her first appearance.

On the bright side, how much is the first appearance of X-Force going for these days? Or Ben Reilly? They'll drop. Only Deadpool, the knockoff no one expected to last, has a valuable first appearance from that period.

I think Amazing Spider-Man 298 and 300 are still ok.

Venom beat the speculation craze by a year or two, though.

But NYX was one of those series that didn't sell well, meaning there arent a ton of then out there, so if X-23 continure to stay popular, I can see it rising in value quite a bit. Even moreso if the rumors of her being in Wolverine 3 are true.

I won't claim that it will remain this way, but I did a survey regarding an early script for Wolverine 3. X-23 and the Reavers were in it. It was like a weird version of Old Man Logan that had a lot to do with a falling-out with Professor X. Also, IIRC, Stryker created both the Reavers and X-23.

(I told them repeatedly that I hated the idea of any Wolverine clone but Reavers are cool if they don't screw around with them too much. This being Fox, they could wind up cybernetic bulldogs wearing tutus.)

Weren't the Reavers made by the Hellfire guy who isn't Sebastian Shaw(I think it's Donald Pierce, but I'm too lazy to look it up)?

And X-23 was created by one of the many offshoots of the Weapon X program. I like X-23 because she's basically Marvel's version of Cassandra Cain.

These guys pre-dated Firefly by a wide margin, but Firefly's so cool that no one complained.
