James D. Hudnall. He was 61.

I mostly remember his writing stint on Alpha Flight.

Cause of death: DC is stupid.

This was sad to read. The first comment I saw which hit home was "Image has filled this void." which I found to be pretty fitting.

Sad, but, really, they've been in hospice care for a decade or more.

They had recently fired up a few Sandman related books, with Neil Gaiman's name on them (even though he wasn't actually writing I don't think). Wonder what they'll do with those - cancel or move them to the DC adult imprint that Batman Damned would come out under....

Dave Brune died on Friday. Not sure of the details. They found him in his home. He was 64.

I’ve mentioned him a few times in the past. He owned one of the several comic shops in the area. I first met him when he set up at local conventions, but I saw him regularly when I worked at the Movie Theater, because he’d come in every Sunday, the day his comic shop was closed, and order a small popcorn, small drink, and go see a movie by himself. Last year he had a stroke and his store was closed for several months. Then last August/Sept I helped him move all his stuff over to a new location over the course of several Sundays. I’d popped in a few times to see him since then, but not on a regular basis. The last time I saw him was when I bought Fables 150 from him a few weeks ago.

R.I.P. Dave, and thanks for everything. You will not be forgotten.

Mad Magazine's Mort Drucker.

You know his work even if you don't know the name (which I imagine you do). No cause listed yet, but apparently not COVID-19.

Denny O’Neil.

His contributions to the industry are immeasurable, but for me personally, he was the editor on the Batman books when I first started collecting and his “From the Den” essays from the letter pages informed a lot of my earliest opinions on the state of comics in general.

Rest In Peace Mr O’Neil.
