In trying to complete the 8 issue "Final Days of Superman" crossover that ended with the Nu52, I was browsing & came across this abomination:
The variant cover by JRJr is going for less than half the standard cover price. Easy to see why - his muscles are so squared off you'd honestly think he was wearing super armor. You'd be wrong.

I think when he got the fat DC exclusive contract. His stuff didn't really look all that great before he left Marvel either though.

Years ago. I’ve noticed as artists get older, they stop putting effort in. Each page used to take them like a day, but now they’ve got their technique down and can bang one out in a couple hours, but the quality is shit.
Art Adams for example. Walt Simonson is another example.

Kick-Ass is where I really started noticing JRJr peetering out. It was all so by the numbered lazy.

So Bendis is pulling a John Byrne and relaunching Superman with a six issue miniseries called Man of Steel, before starting yet another new Superman series.
Also, it looks like DC is giving him his own imprint, so he can move all his creator owned stuff over to DC under one banner, including new issues of Powers and Scarlet.
