Norm Breyfogle had a stroke recently, and it sounds like it isn't going well.

I thought the Hero Initiative was designed to step up and help when these things happen.

Makes me a little leery of the Hero Initiative if they don't, frankly.

FM's quote upon releasing the image "I hope that by now my silence is deafening".

Sorry, but it doesn't take much to get my inner Miller fan nerdgasming everywhere and the pic & quote achieved that.

Um, have you read Dark Knight 2 or anything he's done in the last 10 years or so?
Nothing memorable, except All-Star Batman & Robin, which was hilarious...and still unfinished.

DK Strikes Back and Holy Terror were atrocious.

And Master Race sounds ominous considering how much of an intolerant shit bag he is.

I used to love Frank Miller's work.

Now, I'm not 100% sure I'd piss on him if he were on fire.

2 key points here. He's cowriting with Azarello (who I'm hoping will ensure some form of sanity is maintained) and oddly they haven't declared artists yet. I would have assumed it would be all Frank - apparently not.

EDITED: Got my co-writer wrong.

I see Frank is not only doing DKR3, but a DKR prequel.

Let it die. Please.

BTW, how did everyone see DKR's place in canon when it was released? Some of the book made me think it was not in the future, but the (then) present of an alternate reality where the 1960s show universe had continued, with Jason taking over as Robin in the 70s and getting killed sometime in the late 70s.

That makes me want to reread DKR and read all the Batman dialogue in Adam West's voice.

I thought it was in the future of the "real" Batman timeline, as it existed at the time of release. With DC's ridiculous continuity however, that could mean it was any batman from any earth/period of time ever, and the story may have been earlier or later than it appeared in whichever timeline you chose.

And I don't think "Too much Dark Knight" is a good idea - they scared me away from the Watchmen sequel stuff by making it an avalanche that I didn't want to pay (or work tirelessly tracking books) to deal with. DKIII is fine, they'll get my money - but anything other than that is too much for right now.

I can't remember any of TDK2.

I always too TDK as it's own story and continuity, like an Elseworlds tale. It feels like it takes place firmly in a stylized 1980's, with Reagan and the styles and such.

The only good news coming out of this TDK3 news is the possible conclusion of All-Star Batman & Robin.

In other Batman news, eternal piece of shit Bob Kane is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Apparently "fame" includes taking credit for Bill Finger's creation.

Fuck you Bob. I wish you were still alive so you could diaf.

Crazy that this happens right after DC finally acknowledges Finger's existence....
