So there I was browsing ebay last night, when I happened upon a Canadian vendor dumping some newer comics. By the time I was done flipping through is 84 (yep, 84) pages of stuff for sale I had "Bought it now" 62 new comics. Holy fuck, it's not the time of year to be doing that!!!!

Anyhow, in the mix were a few new books I've missed (Emma Frost, Kingpin, Punisher:Born, Thor: Vikings, JLA/Avengers #1, etc) as well as lots of juicy back issues. I filled in a huge gap in my Wolverine set (close to 20 issues I was missing between 50 and 75 of the first unlimited series), filled in a few arcs of Sandman (can't wait to read them, it's been years since that book ended), got a copy of Wonder Woman #1 (George Perez story and art, for no reason other than the price - 2 bucks), some missed issues of Captain America, Iron Man and Avengers, as well as 3 issues of Ultimates.

Unfortunately I won't be able to buy new books this pay period, blown the wad so to speak (it all came to 244 bucks Canadian, shipping included - less than 4 bucks an issue!).

Im happy, but will be even happier when the shit gets here - hopefully in undamaged condition.

That's a nice haul. Sometimes it's worth it to forego the current stuff in order to reap the rewards of vintage glory.

Some guy dumped a bunch of old Marvel and DC on a buddy of mine and we got first dibs on rifling thru it before he sticks it up on ebay.

I almost finished my X-Force and X-Factor runs from mid 90's. And filled in huge gaps in my Uncanny and X-Men runs. Not to mention Heroes Reborn Fantastic Four and Captain America. And some other things like Batman: Black and White. 100+ comics for $50

Now he just got in about 20 more boxes, so I need to set aside some time and head over there again.

I got a carpload of half-price graphic novels at the comic shop on Saturday, including the first Sandman, Flight II, and one of the Marvel Transformers reprints.

Sadly, though, this is because the comic shop is going out of business. The owner's a friend of mine, and I really feel bad for the guy.

I was like a kid in a candy store and I have so much reading material for the next several months.
