So I'll list a title, and if warranted a year, followed by whatever issues I need. I used to list only what I was specifically interested in, but eventually I realized I could just list EVERYTHING, in case I ever ran across that series, then I wouldn't have to do guesswork if I needed it or not. I figured it would get put on the list eventually, might as well be sooner than later. And I'm always coming across books I didn't realize existed, so I'm constantly adding more and more obscure oneshots and stuff. For example, here's the first notepad as it current looks in my app:

I used to have a physical notebook (and I still see a lot of guys who do that) but that's even more of a hassle long term with the scribbling numbers out and revising the list and re-revising and re-re-revising. Now i always carry it with me, it fits in my pocket, and updating it is quick as erasing a number or two. The initial logging did take a while, but I didn't do it all in one sitting.

And I still 'eyeball' stuff as well. If I ever come across an issue that I'm unsure about, I just toss it in the box. I figure for a quarter, it's easier to be safe and have an extra copy rather than be 'aw shit. I saw that and didn't get it.' or I'll see a large run of a series that wasn't on my list perse, but if I grab it, then that run is now 80% done and I'll add the stragglers to the list. It's like impulse shopping, but for super cheap.

Obviously the highlight of the day was that GIJoe Holy fucking Grail. My heart started pounding when I pulled it out of the box. The Darkness and Losers hauls were nice too. As was putting a large dent in my LotDK run.

Next Big Haul will probably be FCBD.

Went to a comic shop across the river in Illinois I only hit up a couple times a year, one of them being FCBD. Went in there today and he had "$1" boxes so I gingerly looked thru them and saw a lot of stuff on my list, but not a lot I wanted to pay a whole $1 for. So I picked up 19 books and went to the counter preparing to fork over $20 and he said "Eh. $10" so I said "Shit I'll go back and find 20 more books. Does the price get cheaper the more you buy?" He said "yeah we'll work something out."

I walked out with 99 books for $20, plus a sorely needed LongBox, and a couple My Little Pony issues for my daughter(although when we got home we discovered she had grabbed both covers of the same issue. Whoops.) here's what I got.

6 issues of Aquaman and an Annual. I'm only six away from a full run of the '94 series.
10 issues of Azrael and an Annual. 9 issues to go.
Detective Comics Annual 1.
7 issues of Catwoman and an Annual. Just need issue 51. One to go!
4 issues of Fallen Angel. 4 more to go.
The last Flash annual I needed for a complete run of the '87 series.
7 issues of Hitman. Getting close to being done.
An issue of Impulse.
A Robin Annual. One more Annual to go for a complete series.
18 issues of Starman. Over two/thirds done with the series.
The last Supergirl I needed. Except for a "Plus" issue.
Superman Man of Steel 99. Just need 97 for a complete run.

10 Wonder Woman issues. My original goal was to get issue 100 and up. I'm missing 5 issues and I'll have 85 on up.
A couple old Zatanna books and a few other random issues.
And 5 HTF issues of Teen Titans Go! For the kids.

I probably could've finished runs(or at least made huge dents) in The Spectre, Resurrection Man, The Demon, and other series, but they're further down my priority list. And if I hadn't already filled up my Superman, Action, and Advs of runs I would've today. Hopefully they'll still be around May 3rd when I head back for FCBD.

Not a huge haul, but I found Uncanny Avengers 6-9, and 11 and also Justice League 3000 #1 at a Disc Replay. So, except for issue 5, I have the first 12 issues of Uncanny now. And I only paid full price for the first issue. Fuck you, Remender!! I know you troll here, asshole! Stop writing comics and go be a furniture salesman or a guy who cleans up dogshit for the city. Fuckface.
