How did we get to Cable 150--

First series ran 107 issues.
His 2008 series where he was time jumping with baby Hope ran 25 issues, or 26 if you count the 26th Deadpool and Cable issue.
Adding Cable&X-Force from 2013 those 19 issues would put you Past 150, so maybe I'm thinking they're adding the 12 issues from 2002's Soldier X??
That would leave you at 144 and the current series which started last month would get you to 150.

And that's all for now. I'll do more later but I gotta go run some errands.

How did we get to Hulk 709--

This one is messed up. I guarantee it.

The first Incredible Hulk from 1962 ran 6 issues and was cancelled. Sadly, none of those probably count towards the 709 (0)
The second Hulk series, previously titled Tales to Astonish, was renamed Hulk with issue 102 and ran for 474 issues. (474)
The third Hulk series from 1999 ran 112 issues before getting turned into Incredible Hercules for a couple years. But the Herc issues don't count towards the total. (586)
Here's where shit gets stupid. The next Hulk series was the 2008 series, aka the Red Hullk series. It ran for 57 issue before becoming Red She-Hulk.
BUT, after the 12th issue they ALSO restarted Incredible Hulk with issue 600! But wait, you're thinking, 586+12 only gets you to 598. You're missing an issue...nope, because they counted the -1 Flashback issue as the 599th issue. Anyway....besides those first 12 issues, none of the subsequent issues count.
That Legacy numbered Incredible Hulk series went until issue 611 and then got renamed barely a year later into Incredible Hulks. Yep, they just added an "S" on the end. That ran until issue 635.
Then we got Mark Waid's Indestructible Hulk which lasted 20 issues. (655)
Jason Aaron's Hulk series from 2011. 15 issues. (670)
The Mark Waid and then Gerry Duggan series from 2014. 16 issues. (686)
Totally Awesome Hulk will run 20some issues. (70something)

How did we get to Spider-Man 234--

No clue.
This might be the sum total of all the Ultimate Spidey books?? Maybe? But that's 160+28+12+ the current Miles series and that only gets to 200ish.
The 1990 Spider-Man series (98 issues) and its subsequent Peter Parker series(57 issues) only gets to 155. Adding the current Miles series in only adds another 20 issues.

Any Guesses?

How did we get to Doctor Strange 381--

The original Dr Strange series was renamed from the Strange Tales series with issue 169 and ran until issue 183.
His next series from 1974 ran 81 issues. (264)
The 1980's Dr Strange Sorceror Supreme series ran 90 issues (354)
The current Aaron/Bachalo series will make up the difference.

Spider-Man (1990 McFarlane) ended at 98. The next volume of adjectiveless is 2016's Miles Morales book, as you stated, which isn't even up to issue 20 yet. Ultimate has 3 volumes totaling 188 issues, so that's not it either - maybe just the ones featuring Miles.

Right? I was confused, but I think I figured it out. In 2014 they put out a 200th issue of Ultimate Spidey and the math they used to get there was this

Ult Spidey 1-46 (1-46)
Ultimate Six 1-7 (47-53)
Ultimate Spidey 47-133 (54-140)
Ultimate Spidey:Requiem 1-2 (141-142)
Ultimate Spidey V2 1-15 (143-157)
Ultimate Spidey 150-160 (158-168)
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man 1-28 (169-196)
Cataclysm: Ultimate Spidey 1-3 (197-199)

Add in Miles Morales:Ultimate Spidey 1-12 gets you to 212.
The current Miles Spidey book is on 18 and will be to 23 by the time Legacy hits.

So it IS the sum total of all the Ultimate series. Which makes sense because Bendis wrote all of them.
Mystery solved.

How did we get to Daredevil 595--

The original Daredevil series ran 380 issues.
The Marvel Knights relaunch ran 119 issues before reverting to Legacy issue 500 and running to 512 before Black Panther took over the title.
Mark Waid's first DD series 36 issues and his second ran 18. Which gets you to 566.
The current series is on issue 22. That might be enough to get there. If it isn't, they might use the 4 issue Daredevil Reborn bridge mini between the end of Shadowland and the beginning of Waid's run.

How did we get to Captain Marvel 125--

This one I guessed that it wasn't legit Capt Marvel, but "Carol Danvers" issue 125.

The original Ms. Marvel series ran 23 issues back in the 70's.
Her 2004 series ran 50 issues. (73)
Her first Capt Marvel series ran 17 issues (90)
Her second Capt Marvel series ran 15 (105)
Her third series lasted 10 issues (115)
Her current fourth series is on issue 6.

For funsies, the original Mar-Vell series from 1068 ran 62 issues.
And the Genis-Vel series from 2000 ran 35 issues.
That's not counting the Monica Rambeau oneshot from the 80s or a couple mini series thrown in here and there.
Which if added in with Carol's 4 ongoings would put well past 125.

How did we get to Black Panther 166--

His original 1977 series by Jack Kirby went 15 issues.
Priest's 1998 series went 62 issues. (77)
Reggie Hudlin's 2004 series went 41 issues (118)
The 2009 series followed Suri as the Panther for 12 issues (130)
BP took over Daredevil's series in 2011 and that ran from 513-529 for 17 issues (147)
The current series is on issue 15.

How did we get to She-Hulk 159--

Shulkie's first 1980 series ran 25 issues.
John Byrne's hilarious Sensational She-Hulk from the late 80s went 60 issues (85)
Dan Slott's 2004 series went 12 issues. (97)
The 2005 series went 38 issues (135)
Charles Soule's 2014 series ran 12 issues (147)
The current series simply titled Hulk is only on issue 7. I don't think that's enough to get there.
So maybe add in either 2009's Savage She-Hulk 1-4 or 2011's She-Hulks 1-4. Probably the latter since it was originally intended as an ongoing and got downgraded to mini/cancelled after 4 issues.

How did we get to Amazing Spidey 789--

The first Amazing Spidey ran up to issue 441.
The second 1998 series went to issue 58, then reverted to issue 500 and went issue 700.
Superior Otto ran for 33 issues. (733)
Peter came back in 2014 and ran 18 issues. (751)
The current series is on 29. (780) That's still shy a few issues, unless they're counting .1 issues somewhere or it's going bi-weekly in the next couple months.

So we're counting Renew your Vows v1 but not v2. Why make things make sense?

Renew Your Vows? Huh. Wouldn't have considered that. But oh well.

JJ, probably because that was the only ASM book going during the Secret Wars Hiatus.
Whereas V2 is a "spinoff" book.
But then, none of the other series are counting THEIR Secret Wars minis, so it's still inconsistent bullshit.
