Speaking of the new Deathlok, here is an image from this week's Agents of SHIELD.
Its an infrared type of image, but a cool easter egg of a nod to his comic look.

why did the new GR get Blade's car from the movies?Tom Foolery wrote:And I kinda agree that the new GR's "skull" looks goofy. I think it's supposed to be some kind of variation of a racing helmet, but it's awkward. However, the issue itself was good. Trad Moore's art is cartoony, but very dynamic.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

Re: Marvel Universe
Interesting, but incomplete. Several Spider-centric Events are missing. Such as Maximum Carnage.
Also, the DD/Nomad/Punisher crossover "Dead Man's Hand" is missing. None of the Midnight Sons events are on there either. And that's just off the top of my head.

Re: Marvel Universe
Well get in there & edit that bitch. That's what your Rain Man like recall is for.
You are right. I didn't really examine it from that perspective, more just looking at the history of the overlap & seeing just how much work they did to weave the universe together through the years.

Re: Marvel Universe
Looking at that list, the "Event" as we think of it today didn't really explode until DeFalco became EiC.
They had a couple Secret Wars under Shooter, and the Mutant Massacre, but that wasn't even billed as an event. I'm pretty sure those Annual crossovers starting with Evolutionary War and Atlantis Attacks were where Events became yearly things. And then Acts of Vengeance and so on.

Read the new Hulk #1. I hated it, but not enough to keep me from buying issue #2. I haven't read Hulk in ages, sue me.

Re: Marvel Universe
Just finished JLA/Avengers, an older 4 issue deluxe limited series written by Kurt Busiek & arted by George Perez. The highlights as you might expect were the jam-packed spreads featuring more heroes per square inch than Rain Man could count. The low point was the meaningless, throwaway story - which I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by.
Of interest, the Canadian cover price on these books was $9.20 each, as it came out when our dollar was in a bad way. And no, that's not a typo.

Re: Marvel Universe
And continuing through my Avengers history, I'm now looking at Avengers Forever, a 12 issue Kurt Busiek & Carlos Pacheco saga/epic. It's actually been really good through the first 4 issues - great art, and (as per standard Busiek operating procedure) there is a lot to read in each issue. I can't believe I've had this series for the better part of 20 years and never got around to reading it.

Found it! From August 2003.Eternal Padawan wrote:My guy sold out of the Supreme Power (totally underordered) but a frined in LA hooked me up with the DLX version. He said there's like two old Avenger stories in there and a bunch of sketches, so thats cool.
I also just won an entire JMS Amazing Spidey run for $65 on eBay. I rule.

Re: Marvel Universe
Ok I'm back to reading the classics & will be finishing up 1963 today. Not going to lie, it's a bit of a slog, like textbook reading at times. I've reevaluated & still think I'm in "Phase 1" of this whole thing. The month Cap shows up is right before Daredevil's first appearance - maybe that will be a cleaner break. For anyone interested here's the breakdown to end 1963:

Re: Marvel Universe
I was looking thru the newest Marvel Previews with the October solicits and came across this interesting tidbit.
Marvel Masterworks:Howard the Duck vol 1. The HtD thing isn’t a big deal. But it is the 300th volume of Masterworks they’ve released.
One of my Unstarted goals in life is to get all the early Masterworks because obviously I will never be able to affordably track down all the early Marvel single issues.
I started seriously collecting books in 1987, the same year the first MMs came out. 300. That’s crazy.
