In another groundbreaking move, Marvel will revert Uncanny numbering back to volume 1 with issue 600 - coming next month. The book will serve as a finale to both of Bendis' X-runs, All-New & Uncanny. I'm shocked & would wager Newsbot is as well.

Perfect jumping off point and save a few bucks a month.

With Secret Wars and Cataclysm, it looks like I may be dropping a bunch of books in the next few months.

I have absolutely no clue how many Marvel books I'll be buying over the summer. I'll buy the main Secret Wars series for sure & DD, but I'm basically planning to buy what looks good on a weekly basis. I can't seem to find much info on what's coming out.

My current Marvel slate:

All-New Hawkeye - So far, pretty good. Not Hawkguy good, but good. I'll stick with it for a bit.
Punisher - Ending, but maybe relaunched as 2 books?
SHIELD - Not sure on this one's status, but I'm on the verge of dropping it.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Ending soon, but probably relaunched, but I'm ready to drop it because of the Black Vortex nonsense.
Deadpool - Done
Uncanny X-Men - Almost done.
All-New X-Men - Almost done.

Star Wars - Ongoing.
Darth Vader - Ongoing, I guess.
Princess Leia - Mini-series.
Kanan: The Last Padawan - Ongoing?

X-Men Team Photos from the beginning up thru the XX-Men series. Pretty cool.

The "Outback Team" will always be my X-Men.

All-New X-Men #1 - much like Hulk, I went in assuming I would not like it & not continue buying. Turned out I was wrong. It read like a good X-Men comic & was definitely interesting enough to warrant a purchase of #2. Bagley art, reminded me of Alan Davis quite a bit here.

Does the fact that Marvel is putting an Apocalypse-centric comic event out around the same time there's an Apocalypse-centric film sorta deflate the nerd rage theory that Marvel is secretly trying to sabotage all the Fox movie properties?

I would say yes. I didn't know that was in the queue for this year. Age of Apocalypse one more time, bringing me back to the big event that got me back into comics after a long layoff. Time truly is a flat circle.

I really didn't care for this first issue. I need to trim my pull list, so I think this one is cut.
I think I'm tired of the O5 being here and now. The story has run its course.

Yeah, if the O5 are in the present indefinitely and they never go back, then what's the hook of having them out of time?

Also, the sliding timescale of the Marvel U suggests everything that's happened since FF 1 has happened in the last 11-15 years. So hopping from 2002 to 2015 isnt really that jarring. They had Internet and cel phones back then.

They need to do a story where that universe is all fucked up because the X-Men weren't there and they someone to bring them back. Like Days of Future Past, but in reverse.

I would like it resolved too, honestly. It's these types of loose threads left over from someone else's good idea that fuck things up for years to come if they're not handled quickly & efficiently. Should have happened in 600.

That being said, I still thought the 1st issue was ok - if I continue buying, am I propagating them keeping those X-Men here, or showing them that I want a resolution to the story? Likely the former unfortunately. :(
