yeah, there was an apparent disk hiccup (no data loss this time) but it seems the connection to the database server is a bit finicky since. i love that there are five or six of this topic in the "new posts" search, but this is the only one that actually made it through to posting. that's fuckin' ironic.

EDIT: i got the error message when i just posted that and actually took the time to read the message. i've repaired the database table it was erroring out on, hopefully we won't see it again.

that one is different from the error i got earlier, and mostly has to do with the squirrely connection to the database server. we'll probably continue to see that one until my webhost figures it out.

yeah, i upgraded to ver. 3.0.5 (well, i was on 3.0.0, so i had to go to 3.0.4 first, then from .4 to .5) and it was apparently and 'incomplete' upgrade. just redid it, and it took. i'll test now. thanks for bringing it to my attention.

looks like i've got it handled - i could create a new test topic and also split your post about longbox into its new topic as well.

Couple of "general errors." Couldn't get in under vynsane.com or baconhelmet.com. Finally it worked for nodiving.com.

i noticed the site was loading slowly before, and got an error when i did a search for 'youtube' (i can never remember where the 'youtube gems' topic is) but didn't really have a problem. i go through http://asylum.vynsane.com tho.
