Marvel: Legends

Post by Eternal Padawan »

These things are pretty cool, IF YOU CAN FIND THEM!!![:(!] Legends is right! I've not seen hide nor hair of these things since I was lucky enough to snag a Capt America and a Hulk a few months back. A buddy of mine in CA snagged an Iron Man and sent it to me, but it's hand was broken at the wrist.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that the next two waves look freakin' awesome! Especially The Thing, Magneto and Ghost Rider.

For the sake of this <s>thread</s> topic, I consider the Spidey Classic line part of the Marvel:Legend banner. So that Daredevil from way back is prety cool. And when I find Doc Ock, Lizard, and HOBGOBLIN!!! They can join my Rhino as the beginnings of some kind of Sinister Six variant.

The only other Marvel figure I have deemed cool enough to remain displayed since Toy biz started offering these puppies is Beta Ray Thor from the Silver Surfer line four years ago.

BETA RAY THOR <b>ROCKS!</b>

Fuck this [wol] and [ }8{ ] noise. We need a Beta Ray Thor smiley NOW. And Snake Eyes...but that's a different thread. [;)]

If I didn't think Hasbro would cock the whole thing up, I'd like to see 6" super articulated Joe figures to go with all my Marvel Legends, MOTU, LOTR, and other assorted movie figgies. Not a whole line, but StormShadow, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Scarlett, Zartan, Stalker, Roadblock...you know, the mainstays.

Walt Simonson does rule. I started reading Fantastic Four when he started his run...way back when...

First off, it's cool to be able to log into a forum.

Second, it's fuckin' cool to be able to type fuck and stuff.

Third, Marvel Legends continue to RULE.

Spider-Man
Daredevil
Captain America
Iron Man
Hulk
Thing
Human Torch
Namor
Dr. Doom
Magneto
Wolverine
Thor
GhostRider
Gambit
Beast
Elektra
Punisher

FUCKIN' SWEET ALL THE WAY AROUND!

( By the way, since TRU let's their little fuckin' stock boys open up cases and take the chase figures out before they ever see the sales floor, I do not feel the least bit bad about buying a second Punisher, removing his little pistol, and returning the figure. Now I have a sweet ass Frank Castle figgie all John Woo style on my computer.)

Got Kraven the Hunter today. Toybiz needs to lay off the Spider-Men variants ( Scuba Spidey? MANGA Spidey??! C'mon...)and get crackin' on more Spidey villains. Where's Mysterio? Shocker? Electro? Vulture? KINGPIN?

If they don't, I may just have to kick Toybiz in the ballsack. And if they do, I'd be so excited, I'd probably kick 'em in the balls anyway. So either way, they've got bruised boyz comin'...

Aww, Manga Spidey's cute. You gotta at least let that one stay. :)

They needs a set of ML nude X-Women: Psylocke, Jean, Storm, Rogue, and Sage. No naked Jubilee, though. She's cool, but she doesn't have sex organs. It's just wrong to think about that.

Archangel wants a naked Husk Marvel Legends figure.

What? No Naked Emma Frost figure? And why only naked X-babes? Why not Naked Sue Richards? Or Naked Scarlet Witch? Or Naked Mary Jane Watson Parker? ( I don't know why naked had to be capitalized for those , some kind of subconscious thing...)

Emma Frost already dresses like a ho, so she could be clothed.

And if the naked X-Babes sell well, it opens the door for all the others. Just no naked Steel Wind figure, though. Eek!

They could make a chase set of Archangel and Husk for each wave.

For one wave, it could be Archangel helping Husk take off her training bra.

In the next wave, Archangel porking Husk diggity-doggy style.

The next wave can have a cop slapping handcuffs on a naked Archangel as Husk is led away wrapped in a policeman's coat.

And the final installment of the series can be Archangel getting his fudge packed in mutant jail by the Blob.

And the Husk figure could be on Oprah, talking about her new book, which chronicles the tragic events, and the TV movie that's being made from it. Or her new porn career.

So, my Kraven's head is all wobbly, like bobble head wobbly. Is anybody else having this problem?

I see the Spidey villains about once every two months, so if I'm gonna swap this one, it'll take forever. I'm kinda sorta peeved.

I bitched to Toybiz...

Post by Eternal Padawan »

...about chase figures. Specifically Goliath and Red Skull. And here's what they said:

Dear Consumer:

Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding the Marvel Legends variant
action figures.

Not all figures within an assortment sell at the same rate. We use an
educated guess to determine the weighting of each figure within a given
assortment. Unfortunately our estimations will not be right 100% of the
time. When we receive consumer feedback or sales information that we need
more or less of a figure we adjust the weighting of that figure in future
shipments.

Our Marvel Legends line follows this strategy and also has one chase
figure within each assortment. Chase figures do not ship with every
assortment. Fewer quantities are produced and they are meant to become
collectibles. The weighting of variants is never altered and no retailers
are allowed to purchase chase figures only.

If you are unable to find a particular figure in your area we recommend
that you attempt to get them from authorized on-line retailers who charge
market price rather than individuals who charge inflated prices.

We apologize for any disappointment and will certainly share your comments
with our Product Development and Marketing Departments.

If you have any other questions, please contact us toll free at
1-800-634-7539, 8AM-9PM Eastern Time or email us at toybiz@casupport.com.

Sincerely,

FYI, an online retailer that charges "market price" can be found in the same place as an honest lawyer.

Ha! You're only real hope is appealing to the masses at SSG. There are a lot of decent folks over there helping each other out. I've had some good luck that way, and by cold-emailing people I've seen have found stuff I want. PM that guy who just found what you want, and ask him to help. What do you have to lose?

Consider yourself lucky, man, we haven't seen that wave yet and it's mid August. Still sorting through the Splash Action Spideys in case the numb nutz up here didn't score the Hobgoblin out of the box..... I've only found 2, but it's maybe the best action figure ever. Totally rad and tubular.
