Everything goes for at least three times retail on Amazon. I wonder if people actually buy toys there.

Over the past couple days, I've been to about 7 stores (WM, Target, and a TRU). I saw parts of Series 2, 4, 5, and 7. No Series 6.

That's what I keep seeing. I figure, if nothing else, I'll find one on eBay in a year when the demand is lower.

Anyone know if the Marvel Dr Doom/Absorbing Man 2-pack is still shipping, or if it's an old one? I'll find out next time I make a toy run, but I got an idea for a custom and don't know if that set is still available.

I dont think it's still shipping, but I'll check my TRU the next time I'm over there. They have lots of the Secret Wars 2packs languishing.

If they're languishing, I can probably find one. I need to find some little tiny googly eyes--oh, shit, I've said more than I should. :D

Were you supposed to look down and say it?

A while back I bought some of those mini Marvel figures. They remind me of MUSCLE figures from back in the day because they were about the same size, one color, and solid rubber. The pack I bought had a Hulk and Magneto. My intention was making Turdeto, but never got around to it.

I'm wondering if a 6" Doom would work better...for whatever customizing you've in mind.

That would be tougher to find, though....

Then again, IIRC, I got both original versions and the multipack Doom.

Hey everybody!

Anarky wants the recent TF Skids. He would've posted the request himself, but this thread was cleverly hidden from him....

In plain sight.

:P

Okay, weird, this wouldn't show up on my phone last night. :(

This makes me happy. A re-release of the case with Skids is confirmed. I got Waspinator and G2 (?) Dreadwing (seriously, there's still some confusion about whether the G2 figure was an update of the G1 guy, and they seem to be separate in IDW), and don't care about Goldfire Bumblebee at all (got the first version, was unimpressed with the sculpt, and see it's being used for Nightbeat as well, hopefully with better consistency on the colors).

This is good, because Skids has always been fucking awesome.

And the fucktarded racist stereotype bastard from those live-action Transforming Robot Lemur movies can fuck off for using the same name as one of the greatest Autobots ever.

Still no sign of Skids, but HTS says he should be shipping again later this month, so that wave will hopefully be in stores again. Of course, now the repaint (Crosscut) is impossible to find in the Rattrap/Crosscut/Tankor wave, but he's not nearly so big a deal because Skids is awesome and, while Crosscut could be awesome since he's on the Lost Light, I don't know him well.

I do have a rather odd Transformers toy-related request, though.

The new "Leader Class" Jetfire will be out soon. I preordered him on Amazon, since it's one of those rare cases where a toy is actually sold for retail with free shipping there. They're estimating shipping for September 15, though probably more like two or three weeks after that.

Thing is, this fellow is $45. Part of the reason I preordered him is that I have some Amazon credit, but, hey, it could easily go to something else. And I'm not sure how crazy the stores will be about carrying the larger "Leader Class" with them not having the sense to differentiate Transformers (even though the fucking buyers should be dudes who played with them as kids) and will probably only see the AOE movie shit is rotting (along with, unfortunately, Scoop, Whirl, Rhinox, and the Ammonite set).

The real kicker: I have the old Classics version from like 2005. I (unlike most people on Earth, apparently) think this figure kicks epic ass. (He's undersized, but, really, with all the jacking around with TF sizes in the various Classics lines, you're going to bitch about size unless it's some truly bizarre shit like making Roadhandler the size of Metroplex with a pack-in Fortress Maximus the size of a Targetmaster partner?) And there are already several complaints about the new Jetfire.

So, can anyone let me know if they come across a comparison of the two Jetfires, which I'm really quite shocked I've not seen yet? I'd prefer something with text and pictures, but one or the other would help. I don't want to cancel the order yet and risk not being able to find him, but it's slowly sounding like I should do so, then wait to see what he looks like in person (and not the sample from Comic-Con).
