Unintentionally dirty songs

uh, y'know, the sounds that sound good together... sometimes... and sometimes sounds like the disgusting "squish squish" sound Slicker's mom makes whenever she walks

Unintentionally dirty songs

Post by anarky »

From a classic by The Hollies entitled "Bus Stop":

"Bus stop, wet day
She's there, I say
Please share my umbrella
Bus stop, bus go
She stays, love grows
Under my umbrella"

Dude, love grows under my umbrella? That's pretty fucking blatant.

Barry White was a master of this genre. "Let's Get it On" for example could be interpreted as being about lovemaking - who'd have ever guessed it was about an argyle sweater that he and his female companion used to both wear?

I think they were referring to society there, Rosie, not the fact that they'd fooled around in the car. Ironically, it was that video that launched MTV - and e whole new world of rock stars actually having to look half decent to get anywhere.

It was a shot against the media for only accepting beautiful people in the music biz - where sound is the only thing that should really count. I can see how a young lady like yourself could interpret the line that way though, there must be a lot of pressure from your piers about that sort of thing.

It's not intended to be dirty, but can be construed as such?

Maybe you missed the "<b><i>UN</i></b>" in front of "intentionally dirty songs."

On your knees, Mr Reason.

Oh, and, by the way, "Let's Get It On" was Marvin Gaye. [:p]

Damn it!!!! (Can "Marvin Gaye" still me misconstrued, or does his violent death preclude "Gaye" jokes? Me, I think it's been long enough.)

Tip of my hat to Dean Martin. He knew how to get some tail. Date rape used to be so much more acceptable.
