Best and worst covers

uh, y'know, the sounds that sound good together... sometimes... and sometimes sounds like the disgusting "squish squish" sound Slicker's mom makes whenever she walks

It's so different from the original, I didn't even recognize it until I heard the chorus and was like, "Holy shit, that's the Simon and Garfunkel song!"

Couple of country gems by Wyclef Jean:

Okay, just one. I can't seem to find the fucking awesome version of "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" he performed with Willie Nelson.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo released Covering The Bases, an album of covers back in 2005.
Pretty straight forward covers of bands like STP, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Goo Goo Dolls, Incubus, Alice In Chains, Temle Of The Dog and more.
Based on Amazon's 30-second clips, its not terrible, but certainly not very memorable.

Also, coversproject.com looks like a good resource for covers, by and of artists.

Looks decent, but missing a lot. I clicked on Aerosmith, since they're a band who've covered a lot of stuff and have been covered a lot. It's missing several of their covers, and even more of the songs covered by others. Still a good place to start, I guess.

Awesome. Of course, I saw "Daptone Records" and knew it'd be good.

I frickin' love Beethoven's cover of Electric Light Orchestra, but your world's YouTube doesn't seem to have it.

Overkill's cover of Edgar Winter's Frankenstein. Needless to say, this version is much heavier.

Wow, I missed this post originally. I have owned the Yes Box Set for probably 20 years. Granted, I rarely listen to it now, but it never occurred to me that that song was a Simon and Garfunkel cover. The song sounded familiar to me, but I never paid enough attention to it to tie it together with the original.

A different take on an 80s song.

I recently had someone suggest Ryan Adams new album to me, 1989.
That title is no coincidence - he covered Taylor Swift's album from top to bottom.
And based on the samples on Amazon, it sounds pretty damn good.

Ryan Adams is so much cooler than his dad, Bryan.

Three of the guys from REM and Warren Zevon called themselves "Hindu Love Gods" and recorded this.
