I posted on facebook the other day, but here it is again...

Today (September 29th) is the 20th anniversary of the release of Stone Temple Pilots' debut album Core, an album that shaped my musical tastes for years and dominated my summer in 1993. In related news, that makes me feel old.

February 27th, 2013 - Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland - no further information is available at this time.

I learned of my supposed “termination” from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press. Not sure how I can be “terminated” from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday.

The timing of this announcement is suspect. The tour is call "The Purple at the Core Tour" where he'll mainly be playing stuff from Core and Purple, something he wanted to do with STP last year for Core's 20th anniversary.

STP isn't Van Halen. Scott wasn't hired help.

This kind of nonsense has happened before. STP will be back someday.

Adam and I will be seeing the first stop on Scott's solo tour Friday night in Flint!

Guns 'n' Roses = Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagen, and a rhythm guitarist and drummer. Hasn't stopped Axl from using the name for his vanity projects.

Slash & Santana both put out records over the past few years with rotating vocalists (including some fairly interesting choices like Ian Astbury from The Cult on the Slash record). It's what bands do when their singers quit, die or don't want to do it anymore.

Which is it for Weiland anyhow? Are you guys 100 percent sure he's not dead from the drugs & that's some weird lipsyncing doppleganger you got pics with?
