Re: The Walking Dead
It is funny that someone can get "killed" twice in the same episode. Can you really kill a zombie if they are already dead?
They really aren't afraid to kill main characters. Next week is the season finale.

Re: The Walking Dead
Something tells me I should start reading the comic book. I understand they have changed the story line somewhat, but kept the overall storyline.
And I got how many months until season 3 starts?

Re: The Walking Dead
The changes made were as a result of the internal politics of Darabont's departure. Specifically, at least one actor departed the show out of loyalty to Darabont who offered him a job on a different show, and his character was killed off...in a time and manner inconsistent with his fate in the comic(read that as me being diplomatic as to whether that person is still alive in the book and in no way definitively suggesting one fate or another. I shan't say one way or the other).Ran wrote:Something tells me I should start reading the comic book. I understand they have changed the story line somewhat, but kept the overall storyline.

Otherwise, I've heard they're staying faithful to the comics.

Re: The Walking Dead
I heard an interview with the actor that played Shane. They said this character lasted a lot longer in the show than the comic. This actor is supposed to be on another show with people tied from Walking Dead.

Re: The Walking Dead
They've stayed faithful to the comics in tone, but they've altered quite a bit, which I prefer, this way the reader is just as entertained/shocked as a nonreader.
And holy shit, that finale was AWESOME!

Re: The Walking Dead
For those of you that are behind, AMC will be doing a marathon New Years Eve/New Years day.
Mid-season finale was tonight. No more new episodes until February. It is amazing how much screwed up stuff the creators can come up with on a weekly basis.

Re: The Walking Dead
Good to know. I'll watch the first two seasons on DVD and catch up on the third at that point. Then my victory shall be complete, mwah hah hah hah!
BTW, there's a reason Jack Huston has never guest starred on The Walking Dead. He'd shoot all the fucking zombies in five minutes and render the Earth safe for normal people again.

Jack Huston is supposedly on the short list of actors to play Starlord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Re: The Walking Dead
Won't work.
He'd put a bullet through Thanos and it'd be a really short movie.
Trust me, it ain't on YouTube yet, but, if you don't mind spoilers, watch Harrow's return to the Club Artemis. Fuck, it's exactly as far as they can push violence without becoming cartoony. Frank Castle was watching, and cried because it made him look like a pussy.

Re: The Walking Dead
Okay, it's up now. It's sort of spoilery, if you know who the characters are. A guy missing half his face (including one eye) accomplishes in four minutes what the combined armies of Nucky Thompson, Al Capone, and Chalky White couldn't in months, all to get one little boy out of a brothel.
"Tommy, close your eyes" may seriously be the baddest-ass moment in TV history.

Re: The Walking Dead
I saw this the other day. I don't get it. People act like this show is a prostate exam from your favorite pornstar. It's just a bunch of assholes from community theatre auditions with pancake batter on their faces making fake orgasm moans and walking around slowly. You get more pathos from the dumbfucks in the 20 items or less line at WalMart. Has society really reached such a creative dead end that people actually look forward to this shit? Here's a fun fact. They filmed every episode the same day and then put them all in a big bag and play them in random order. I bet you didn't know that. Because every episode is a bunch of community college student film bullshit. Except without the campy irony. Milton Berle is rolling in his grave.

Re: The Walking Dead
So now they're having a spinoff series of TWD following a brand new group never seen in the comics.
It tentatively titled Walking Dead: The Spin-Off.. If it does well, AMC is hoping to start other TWD spinoff series, eventually having 30-40 zombie shows playing all the time on every channel.
