Football

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Batman, Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons

Lions’ performance is worst of week 1, worse than Buffalo’s.
Detroit’s home, Detroit’s got a QB, Detroit should be getting a boost from a new coach.
Patricia’s mentor would fire a couple of players in the wake of a game like this. Will he?

I cannot disagree with that assessment.

You would think a SB winning defensive coach would be able to exploit and toy with a rookie QB instead of sucking him off.

Ugh. This is gonna be the entire season.

Vontae Davis, Buffalo's CB quit and retired at halftime?
That's fucked up.

I understand being upset that you're on a terrible team, but that's a bitch move.
Hell, I'd stay on the team just for the paycheck and hope to impress another team for next year.

Bills get back most of Davis' $1.5M signing bonus and his $2M salary is voided. With bonuses, he could have made $5M.

Josh Allen looked okay for his first game. The head coach took over play calling for the 2nd half and it made a difference. Not sure what that means for the defensive coordinator.

Ryan Fitzpatrick’s post game news conference almost outshined his epic performances the past two games. Jameis Winston who?

Cleveland...so close man...soooo close. Time to get a new kicker.

Damn, Mahomes is no joke.

Lions. Might be 0-5 going into their bye week. Patricia was a DEFENSIVE coordinator, right? Because everybody seems to drive cargo ships thru his defense and move up and down the field at will. Fuck, man. It’s gonna be a long season.

Is it coincidence that the new QB for the Browns has the initials "BM"?

Hahaha!! What’s going on in Minnesota with the Bills and the Vikings???

Holy shit. Can we say “trap game”??

Hopefully they can hold on to that lead for a half.
EDIT. They did. Well played.

No way I would have picked the Bills to win that game.

Nice to see that the BIlls' defense pulled their heads out of their asses. Pete Prisco from CBS tweeted "Why aren't people raving about Allen like they were Mayfield? This is every bit as impressive".

In advance of next week’s tilt; a haiku:

Clay Matthews sneezed.
Josh Allen was nowhere near.
Roughing the passer.

The Bears should be 3-0. That's scary. Any week Minnesota & Green Bay both lose is a banner week. Congrats to the Bills.

The Bears should be 2-1. But they shoulda won the first one and lost the third one.

Every game besides the Bears game in the NFC North today went the opposite of the way they were expected to. I don’t know if I’m more shocked about the Bills win or the Lions win.

I'll accept that. The Bears COULD be 3-0 is a more fair statement. No way in hell the Lions win. No way in hell the Bills win. Both on the same week likely could have bought someone a new house if they hit it in vegas.

I was fully expecting the Lions to get a drubbing and be at the very bottom of the Power Rankings on Tuesday. A spot occupied by the Browns for like the past three years.

Adam Schefter
Buffalo defeated Minnesota by 21 points after it entered game as a 17-point underdog. The 21-point win was the 2nd-largest by a team that was at least a 17-point underdog since 1966, trailing only St. Louis’ win over Atlanta by 22 points, also as a 17-point underdog, back in 1973
I started Latavius Murray on one of my fantasy teams yesterday since Dalvin Cook was hurt. I expected double digit points from him and ended up with 5.6. I'll probably lose that game since I'm down by 110 points. I still have Fitzpatrick, A. Brown, Connor, plus Pitt's TE & K. I really need that game to be a shootout. Watch it be 13-10. Yahoo is giving me a 4% chance of winning.

I watched about 5 minutes of the Lions game and saw the NE TD. Turned it off after that. By Sunday night, I'm kind of tired of football.
