Winter Classic - Sabres vs. Penguins

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Batman, Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons

Ariana Grande's family had season tickets to the Florida Panthers when she was a kid. The seats were a few rows up behind the penalty box. Someone found an old article. By the time she was 5, she was hit in the head twice by pucks going over the boards. After the 2nd time, they let her ride the Zamboni.

fact check:
THE ARTICLE wrote: On that Friday night back in 1998, as the future Grammy-award nominee’s mother recounted a game back in January when her daughter was hit in the wrist with a hockey puck, it happened again.

Last time, it was her right wrist. This time, her left.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

Thought someone said head. Must have got the story mixed up.

The league put netting up around glass in 2002 because a girl was hit and eventually died.

So I believe tonight is the night the Leafs conclude their annual painful loss to the Bruins in the playoffs.

This one is for JJReason and maybe Diabolical because I'm not sure who else will get it.

I was trying to figure out how to explain Don Cherry to people that had never heard of him. My first thought was a guy who is part John Madden, part Rush Limbaugh, and wearing a suit made from the same fabric as the sofa in your grandmother's formal living room. But, I'm not sure that is the best way to put it.

John Madden is likely the closest thing an American sports fan could understand, but not even Madden was woven into your national fabric the way Cherry is into ours. He's everyone's crazy great uncle that drinks too much & says whatever he wants - LOVES traditional hockey, Canada, the military, police, Canada, a few beers & a good laugh.. and Canada. Did I mention he loves Canada? He fucking LOVES Canada more than anyone. Anyone.

Truth be told, his best years are long in the past. We only watch & love him these days because we always have. End of story.

If fucking Sportsnet was going to start hovering over his every word, looking for their first chance to let him go this season to make themselves look progressive & woke they should have just told him last year was the end so he could have signed off with Ron one last time.

Right. It seemed he was a bigger part of Canadian culture than John Madden is to American culture. People have been calling a xenophobe for a while now and from what I understand, he finally crossed the line. Of course, no one knows exactly where the line is until someone crosses it.

The NHL really makes some bad musical choices. Back in 2008 they had Def Leppard at some opening day celebration and let them handle the Stanley Cup during their performance. Joe Elliott managed to put it down upside down. They had Kiss at the outdoor game in Dodger Stadium, and that was just awkward. And for this year's all star game, they had Green Day, who they had to censor several times.

I'm not so enamored with any all star games any more, but the fastest skater is always interesting. Even though he took second place this year I don't think there's anyone that has game speed like McDavid. He just disappears.

As far as the second half of this season goes, I'll be interest to see who they choose to be the next coach of the Red Wings. My money's on John Cooper.
