Anything good on TV this season?

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Tonight's episode of The Blacklist was directed by Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin Aces, A-Team) and was fucking hardcore. It's the first part of a two parter. It was intense. Great stuff.

Also watched Almost Human. I've only seen a couple of the episodes but it's been decent and diverting. And Minka Kelly is fucking hot. I'd eat melting ice cream off her ass.

The new Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is really good. Ellie Kemper is hot.

The Last Man on Earth had a great pilot. The next 2 episodes were pretty strong, but didn't live up to the pilot.

I have Better Call Saul ready to go (so far), which I've heard nothing but good about.

Just finished the IZombie pilot. Pretty good. Deviates from the source material, which I can forgive because it makes up for that with a nice Veronica Mars vibe, which isn't too surprising, considering the showrunner is Rob Thomas.

I love Better Call Saul. Anyone who isn't happy being back in Alberquerque can fuck a duck.

My goodness. I thought their asses were water tight, but I guess that doesn't prevent snigtads from penetrating their ducky lady parts.

I actually have been watching The Last Man on Earth. But, I missed the first few minutes of the first episode, so I have no idea where everyone else went.

I think they made a passing reference to a virus. That's as far as they went into it so far.

The new season starts, so it's time to watch shows that will be canceled by mid season.

Watched Lethal Weapon which was what I am dubbing a new term for. "hahahahawful" which is sort of like awfulsome, but where awefulsome is something so bad it's good, hahahawful is something so bad you have to laugh at it.

Also watched Pitch which was decent, and had some good actors in supporting roles, like Bob Balaban as the team owner and Dan Lauria as the manager. Also, I watched the entire episode and didn't realize Mark Paul Gosselaar was the catcher. I'm sure if I rewatched it it'd be obvious it was him, but when I saw the credits, I was like wait, Zack Morris was in this?? As who??

I have this pattern of starting to watch TV shows after they end and go to into syndication. So far I've done it with Arrested Development and Firefly. Add two more to the list. Since the pandemic kicked in, I started watching The Office. I've also seen some episodes of Parks and Rec. These are basically the same show, right? This isn't even a Rashida Jones joke.

No.
While The Office was great, Parks & Recreation is far superior.
There was only one episode of P&R I can honestly say I didn't like.

I remember watching a few early episodes of P+R and thinking it was just doing the “interview” schtick from The Office and stopped watching it.
But after I heard the first season was weak and it got much better, I went back and binged it a few years ago. I agree, it’s better than The Office. In fact, I can’t say I’ve actually watched the final several seasons of The Office. Maybe an episode here and there.

Scrubs is still the best sitcom ever.

I used to agree that Scrubs was better, but that last season or two - ugh.

The first season of P&R is rough and essentially an Office clone.
I initially didn't continue past season one, but my second viewing was better than I remembered and after getting to know the characters it's really not bad.
