Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time

Call me nuts, but, while I don't think Whedon is infallible, I think Justice League was doomed from the start by having two very different directors, but Whedon is most likely the reason it wasn't a total shitfest. That last scene of Flash and Supes? That was fucking gold. And you know that wasn't S...

Re: Netflix Original Series

We've been watching more TV than usual. Wonder why. Peaky Blinders : The modern music is a little disconcerting at first, but, damn, this show is good. It's like an HBO crime drama in that it's dark as hell and no one is safe. Sam Neill fucking destroys it as the main villain. Locke and Key : Never ...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Tag and Bink are great. They originally had a cameo in Solo when Lord and Miller were directing (maybe as the Stormtroopers that toss Han in Chewie's pit?). Their story would be good for an animated movie. I think they were junior officers during Han's court martial. It would've been cool to see th...

Did anyone have Little Richard?

He's another one of those I halfway thought was immortal.

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

Well, Filoni is about 1/2 in charge, the Darksaber showed up already, and Ahsoka is in Season 2. It's pretty obvious that Filoni's favorite characters are Rex and Ahsoka, and they're longtime best buds. He still seems more logical. Then again, they are clones of the same guy, so there's nothing to s...

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

This is the way.

Holy shit.

(Though I strongly suspect someone saw his name and reached the wrong conclusion, and he's actually playing a different Jango Fett clone, namely Commander Rex.)

Eh, I'd do 'em both.

If cloning were a thing, at the same time.

I wonder how this will fuck up the plans of all the publishers who have FCBD first chapters to crossover events.

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

The book is much better.

It doesn't excuse shortfalls in filmmaking, but both the novelization and Visual Dictionary contain the about 50% of plot that Abrams forgot to include.

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time

We realized my son doesn't remember the Burton films and had a bit of a marathon yesterday: Batman and Batman Returns, followed by the two greatest Batman parodies, The Batman Lego Movie and Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. They all hold up. And there are so damned many Easter eggs in the last two, I ...

Hama also famously never rereads his old stuff. Which leads to some major discrepancies... which he turns to gold when people point them out. (Looking at you, Sneak Peek.)

I didn't realize the "Demogoblin" name came about until after the demon split off into a separate entity. And I figured the demon had a more demonic real name.
