Re: MCU Topic

As good as the movie is, I think releasing it at this time of the year has a lot do with its success. It has absolutely no competition and won’t for several weeks.

Top Summer Film of 2018

As I look at the ridiculous amount of money Black Panther has made in its first few days(seriously, the only movie to make more money in the same amount of time is The Force Awakens) it occurred to me I hadn’t done this year’s poll. Then I looked at the options, and there was only one choice for wha...

Marvel announced another relaunch coming soon, like Marvel Now a few years ago.
All the Avengers titles will be condensed in one title with Avengers #1.

Wait, so is Avengers not even gonna hit a milestone issue before it relaunches? It’s on 681 right now.

Re: The current state of disarray at Marvel

Yeah, dual numbering isn’t that fucking difficult. It doesn’t even have to be prominent on the cover.

I went with reboot in the sense that Last Stand made the “present day” continuity toxic scorched earth so they had to come up with a premise that could ignore it and start over. Brett Ratner ruined everything.

Re: What have you watched lately?

Oh, I will explain. I will. The first 3; X-Men, X2, XMen Last Stand were original timeline. X-Men Origins Wolverine was a prequel to original timeline set in the 80s. First Class was the reboot set in the 60s. Days of Future Past set in the 70s is a sequel to First Class that also dissipates the tim...

Re: MCU Topic

Saw Black Panther yesterday. Overall, it was excellent. BP has had a lot of supporting characters over the years in the comics, to the point I’ve had difficulty keeping track of them and separating them. This movie did a good job of having many of them in the film, and streamlining them and their re...

Re: Transformers 6 is dead; reboot to follow

What does this mean for the Bumblebee movie set in the 80s?
Kinda pointless to have a prequel movie for a dead series.

I also bought some comics this week. I put ‘em in the two long boxes of unread comics with all the others.

Re: Football

First half was entertaining.

EDIT. The second half was also entertaining. A very satisfactory performance all around. Not even mad, a couple questionable TD decisions aside, about the outcome. Plenty of gunslinging on both sides. Good for Nick Foles. Hope he gets a good team next year.

Re: Football

As Stephen A Smith has been repeating for the last two weeks, Belichick has had TWO WEEKS to prepare for Nick Foles.

I’m rooting for the Lions future head coach, Matt Patricia, against their former head coach, Jim Schwartz. Battle of the Defensive Coordinators!

Re: superman

So Bendis is pulling a John Byrne and relaunching Superman with a six issue miniseries called Man of Steel, before starting yet another new Superman series. Also, it looks like DC is giving him his own imprint, so he can move all his creator owned stuff over to DC under one banner, including new iss...
