Re: Video Game Movies

Watched Fallout two episodes per day over the last week or so. Fucking fantastic. This is what is possible when showrunners respect the source material. I love that they kept peppering “movie stars” into roles and they’d only survive one scene. Oh look, Mykelti Williamson as a bounty hunt—whoop. Gue...

Re: Proud Moments in Fatherhood

no one cares? I did. I started watching it when you posted it, then got sidetracked by some family drama and paused it 30 seconds in and didn’t get back to it until just now. [sheepish] That’s pretty dope. It’s great how the audience gets pumped up. I’m always fascinated by the evolution of competi...

Re: Transformers Movie - Live Action

The top comment on youtube is “Nobody hates Transformers like Transformers fans” and that just isn’t true. Hasbro and Paramount hate Transformers way more than the fans do. When I read the synopsis a year ago, I thought what a great way to make a morality play and make Megatron more complicated and ...

Re: What games did you buy/play this week?

Portal. I played it many, many years ago when somebody lent me the Orange Box set that had Portal, Half-Life, and Team Fortress on it. But I got hung up on one particular level and never finished the game. I have since then played and beaten Portal 2 a couple times, but never finished the first one....

Re: X-Men '97

I tried watching the original show back in the 90s. The animation was so shitty, I gave up after like 3 or 4 episodes. People say it got better. I actually have the entire series on DVD though, but I’ve never bothered to watch it. I tried rewatching it again when it showed up on Disney+ and it just ...

Re: What have you watched lately?

I would call it the 4th viewing. Saw it in the 80s, rewatched it once in the 90s. Then probably watched it once before in the 21st century. But I’m pretty sure I laugh at different gags every time.

Re: What have you watched lately?

Wish. Disney celebrated 100 years of animation and had their storytellers watch every animated film ever to channel that magic into this one film…and somehow missed the point of every single one of them. And tragically could not come up with a single catchy tune either. And a minor nitpick, the end ...

Re: Quote of the day

Somehow, anarky returned…

…and immediately started dropping nuggets like this one.
…and the shit I saw will haunt me for decades after I'm gone.
This was a gem already, but the ‘after I’m gone’ is where I totally lost my shit.

Re: MCU Topic

You don’t need to watch Ms Marvel to enjoy Marvels. You get the gist of her character, relation to her family, etc pretty quick.
But her infectious enthusiasm in Marvels is on display throughout Ms Marvel, so you’ll enjoy it if you liked her in the movie.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Here’s a bunch of Spider-Man minis, oneshots, and a new ongoing(?) that I thought was a mini. Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man 1-5. Peter is in LA(for no reason) working on new tech(that’s not really in his field) with a random new scientist chick, and he accidentally enters the dreamworld to do battl...

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

I really can’t finish the PT when I attempt rewatches. It’s not that I think they’re bad, I just lose interest watching them. They are objectively unsatisfying films.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Miles Morales:Spider-Man, the current ongoing Miles series. Writer Cody Ziglar took over from Saladin Ahmed as writer. The only thing I remember him writing is that Spider-Punk mini I just finished and was not impressed with. Joining him on art is Federico Vicentini who has a dynamic fluid art style...
